SEN (Radio)

@mars_argo Don’t agree, I’ve been listening every day from the start and Classic Rock Radio play a much wider selection of music than SCA did. How many 60’s songs did SCA play for instance? They also play much more music than SCA did. Would never describe SCA’s Classic Rock as eclectic. Keep listening to CRR and you’ll discover a few hidden gems occasionally.

Herald Sun says Adam Cooney will replace Robert Shaw as co-host of SEN’s Sunday morning show between 10am-12pm. Shaw, who has hosted the show with Mark Fine for the past few years, was told by station management that his service was no longer required.

Hey whats everyone’s view on classic rock radio here in Melbourne i like it but the one thing i find really annoying is the breakfast show about fishing you don’t need it

Sunday Herald Sun reports Hamish McLachlan will leave SEN breakfast at the end of this year (he only signed a one-year contract). His Channel Seven colleague Tim Watson is staying. The show has been struggling in the ratings, not even the signing of Garry Lyon and live broadcast from AFL head office has helped.

I would think it’s up against some pretty tough competition now Triple M Classic Rock is back, along with Greatest Hits…

PSN should dump classic rock radio and bring back 3mp as a easy classic station like 2ch is at the moment

Glad it’s been announced now. THis is the natural spot for him to move to. Onwards and upwards.

Former Australian cricketer and Nine commentator Simon O’Donnell will join SEN ahead of the 2017/18 cricket season.

I thought his career was ‘all over, red rover’!

He had an on-air role last summer too. He even co-hosted breakfast for a week. This just formalises last summer’s arrangement.

Simon O’Donnell also co-hosted The Run Home last Cricket Season.

we all have bills to pay :stuck_out_tongue:

Another shake-up at SEN with Francis Leach quitting the afternoon timeslot but will become the soccer expert at the station. According to today’s Herald Sun, this could open the door for Andy Maher to return (he was replaced by Leach in afternoons last year).

Goings on…

It’s always amateur hour at SEN in the shareholding/directorships.

Lucky there’s lowly paid radio people desperate to pay off mortgages who work hard to keep good programming on air.

Changes seem to be because Crocmedia want to buy or become involved with SEN.

Which on air talent is out of contract at SEN at the end of 2017 Broadcasting Year.

Station should reformat as News Talk Sports 1116 3AK. Use Crocmedia sports stuff all weekend, have a big sports show each evening and all shows could integrate a fair amount of sports content in their programming but also allow other listeners to listen to the station.
