Could be completely wrong but it seems like 1 News has grown a fair amount since mid last year? And Three’s bulletin is rating around the same.

Would be good if they built a rectangle set with 3 sides. Current set I feel sometimes it only seems one sided. Limited (minus AR stuff)
They need to ditch circlular desk, doesn’t work with one person imo. If so have them sitting in the centre. Change the story intro shots to tighter ones, I don’t like how they’re full wide shot (former two presenter shot)
Weather should go back to being keyed. I’ve never liked weather on newswalls, on any channel anywhere in the world.

I was thinking it may have been a last minute thing based on Dan outside, and the weather graphics being a really poor 16:9 version based on their wall ones.
Perhaps just issues with their news wall, as there were some slides in one piece that Simon would have been standing in front of if it were from their normal set.

Is the studio always that dark now?
I loved it tonight. would be good if this was the main news studio - reminds me of ABC World News Tonight

Surprised they didn’t use the live position with a screen from the newsroom for Dan. You could definitely hear some vehicle noises outside. Looked a bit miserable too, though maybe that was part of the point.

It’s terrible. A screen and desk. No substance at all.
Guess that’s why I also dislike ABC World News Tonight.
At least the regular set’s AR gives it a bit of life.
1 News also desperately needs new graphics.

What studio is 1 news normally in? And what studio is lotto? I remember on the Tvnz website many years ago had a page with their studios at their centre but can not find anything anymore. They used to have 3 studios?
