Really? Thats interesting I wounder what the difference was between this V the 3D broadcasting that we had in the early 2010s.

The 3D technology then used different coloured lenses. The 2010s was polarised light.

only a few days AFAIK. I think being the national broadcaster it was more imperative to get it restored as quickly as possible.

Both experiments failed

When you think about it though the 3D that came out in the 2010s was still around a long time before it was completely phased out.

1996: 10’s Exclusive Coverage of the VRC 1996 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins from Flemington Racecourse in Victoria. Meanwhile, more racing action in NSW can also be viewed on Nine during it’s Mercantile Mutual Cup Domestic Cricket Coverage.

1999: A day after 10 undergoes a major revamp in it’s on-air presentation (Which includes the removal of the “Turn Me On” Motto), the network broadcasts live and exclusive coverage of Melbourne Cup Day 1999 from Flemington Racecourse in Victoria with Bart Cummings winning Cup No. 11. thanks to Rogan Josh.

November 3 2001: 10’s final Melbourne Cup Carnival coverage (Before 2019) begins from Flemington Racecourse in Victoria presented by Tim Webster, Peter Donegan and Sandra Sully. Note that Tim Webster advised viewers in New South Wales and Victoria that the final race (As well as the results) of that day would still be shown during the 5:00 pm news.

Looks like the telemovie will not see the light again. Byrne’s boyfriend Gordon Wood (played by David Lyons) was acquitted of her murder in 2012 by the NSW Court of Appeal.

The former was an absolute failure and was axed in May the following year due to low ratings.

Studio 10 OTOH was successful and had an impressive 10 year run ending just before Christmas last year
