Outsider looking in and Iād be surprised if 7HD didnāt switch to the main Channel 7 feed in all states for the coverage - although I agree statements put out are open to interpretation personally I think theyāve made it clear itās āCh 7ā coverage rather than ā7ā coverage.
Also I guess any AFL games over the period would fall in the downtime anyway (other than clashing with evening highlights), so shouldnāt be too tricky to switch the feed for the period.

I think if it is not announced by the end of this week it isnāt going to happen.
Just doesnāt make sense that Australiaās no1 network will not make HD widespread everywhere despite the laws changing. I cannot recall who said it but Seven are like the Liberal Party with the NBN . Do I have to go to NZ and watch Home and Away in HD in MPEG -4

I mean will we end up with the ABC in HD by the end of this year and 7 will be the only one without widespread HD ? That will be quite interesting if that happens.
One more question . Is MPEG2-HD capable of high bitrates for 7Mate being in HD for regional Qld ? Will it look sharp not soft HD ?
That really isnāt good enough. The Opening Ceremony needs to be in HD. I am going to be so angry tuning in at 9am next weekend to watch Seven in SD. Seven SD is so poor in quality. It is virtually unwatchable.

I donāt think for example the baby boomers and over 50ās will really care if 7 is in HD or not . Seven is the no1 network and they can do what they want whether that means more LOL specials or no HD they will do what they like. I donāt think HD increases ratings ?
Maybe they are waiting for Prime to sort out its issues as Prime cannot do HD ā¦ so perhaps 2017 will be the year it all happens.
I always thought Southern Cross would be the one taking ages to get HD going or Win but they have been really fast .
Also just finally I think networks like 7 which is in bed with Foxtel for Presto are of the idea that if people want HD they can go pay for it eg via streaming or Foxtel . Maybe that is why nothing has changed. Maybe the networks overall donāt want to add 100 percent HD as they would rather you pay for it elsewhere ? Idunno ā¦ just a thought probably wrong ā¦
Why would 7 be waiting for Prime to get HD? That doesnāt make any sense?
With the next two Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea in 2018 (winter) and in Tokyo, Japan in 2020, it will mean a much more viewer-friendly time zone for Australians.
Most medal events will be taking place in primetime (Japan and Korea are UTC+9, one hour ahead AEST, 30 mins behind of ACST and one hour behind AWST)
This thread should remain open after the Games as āSevenās Olympic coverageā.

I think Seven executives will be realistic, thinking about the future of 7HD rather than just a 2 week event.
They wouldnāt want to keep switching back and forth, just so viewers cab see AFL or Olympics in HD in all markets.

Isnāt the opening ceremony around roughly 6am Perth time on the Saturday?
Therefore, what else is being shown on the HD channel that it will not be shown in HD?

According to guides it should start at 7am in Perth. 7HD at this will be showing across the broadcast Zoom, Harley Davidson TV and Home Shopping

Every tv guide online that I checked doesnāt even show Friday august 5 never mind august 6!!!
Thought Darcy was going to do AFL, since Seven does need a extra caller.
