Oh no, not that song again!

Simon & Garfunkel - “The Boxer”

Don’t mind that one actually. As with all 60s and very early 70s songs nowadays, hardly overplayed.

One from S&G that used to get played all the time but I never hear now is ‘Cecilia’. That was a 2WS FM staple in the 90s but I don’t even hear it on community radio now.

Yes, it’s like that with most 60s and 70s songs these days. Too old for commercial radio now.

Hardly hear songs like Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Steet” anywhere now which WS used to flog mercilessly.

Where are you hearing this played often?

Haven’t heard it for years, not even on 4BH

Yep, Gold 104 flogged Cecelia back in my childhood, so much so I got sick of it.

The Boxer, Homeward Bound and America are some faves of mine - still love them.

Funny you mention “The Boxer”… I heard it a week or so go on Vintage FM and thought to myself that I hadn’t heard it for a while. Same with Baker Street.
I guess these songs today would be in the domain of the oldies Narrowcast stations.

When I was at Woolworths shopping, the Woolworths Radio played Tones & I single, Never Seen the Rain. That song has been flogged on other radio stations.

Anything from Tone Deaf and I deserves to be here…

I’ve got that f**king Bruno Mars song “Just Like That” stuck in my head.

I very quickly changed the station this afternoon because I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas came on. I don’t mind some of their other stuff but this one annoys me.

“My Humps” is an instant station changer for me, though I haven’t heard it on radio for ages.

When at work, 94.5FM Perth played Pussycat Dolls song When I Grow Up. That song has been flogged on other radio stations for years. Back when I was in school, some kids sang that song about future career pathways.
