I don’t remember it, nor have I ever heard of it beforehand.
What the hell is or was NRTV?
Northern Rivers Television, now NRN.
1993-94 Ident.
NRN-57 Newcastle (Hunter/Central Coast) variant.
1994 Commonwealth Games Ident.
Are you going to upload the video to YouTube at any stage? It looks like a good quality video of the ident.
Yes, in a week or so.
Then they changed their name to Ten on the opening day of the Games IIRC.
NRTV 1993 Gold Coast IDs (UHF-55).
NRTV first started relaying to the Gold Coast in 1983.
Was this in the lead-up to aggregation?
After. Saw it often in Newcastle.
And I’ve said it before and I’ll say it here as well. NRTV News, which ran 6pm to 7pm, was even better than NBN. Such a shame it didn’t continue.

Was that logo in place during the whole program? A watermark might have been more appropriate?
It pops up every now and then during the film
I guess it’s a handy identifier to Gold Coast viewers to differentiate whether they were watching NRTV or TVQ but it seems very intrusive, especially for those not on the Gold Coast
Most regional networks did something similar
I know VIC TV/WIN, Prime and Imparja had little watermarks on-screen but that was nowhere near as intrusive as a full-colour logo at that size that NRTV looks to have done
