Yes that’s right. From 2018 Nine will show all there matches via streaming as well.

Assuming they have Fox Sports HD (why would you have Fox Sports without HD?), I don’t understand these tweets. Even if Ray Warren was commentating you’d watch Fox Sports every time. Live, no ads, HD and you’re paying for it!

Fox have consistently had the better coverage all year. They really have shown nine up.
Problem is we are stuck with nine for another 5 years as the free to air broadcaster. They are complacent. By the time the rights deal is up they would have been with the rights for 30years. Way too long. Other broadcasters offer something new. Just look at how ten has gone with the BBL.

It looks to me Nine has both made a change (by successing snatching the AFL broadcast rights from Seven in late 2000) and resisted a change (by outbidding Ten to secure the next NRL broadcast rights). The lack of a succession plan to replace Ray Warren will haunt Nine for the whole duration of the new deal.
I think we’ve had this conversation before but Ray Warren is enough of a pull to make people want to watch and put up with ads. Remember most of these people would have had Fox anyway to watch the remaining games in the round before Fox got rights to simulcast the lot. Having Ray Warren is worth the pay off of the ads for some.
Can’t we all agree that Ray Hadley either needs to retire or receive a lifetime ban from all forms (sports commentary, talkback, the lot) of media?
Also, I would’ve thought that most NRL fans with Pay TV gravitate towards Fox Sports’ coverage of the games regardless of whether or not Ray Warren is commentating on Nine.

Maybe in a year or so, once the concept of having every game live on Fox has built. Fox’s domain has been Saturdays/Sundays/Mondays for so long people are used to Nine on the other nights.

I have Fox Sports HD and on the Nine games I watch Nine.
I wonder if some people though, like to hear Ray Warren on Nine or Warren Smith on FOX or hear let’s say Andrew Moore or Richard Svenson on the ABC or David Morrow or Dan Ginnane on Triple M?
Who is going to call the Warriors Roosters game for Nine on Sunday? we know it will be Glen Lamar and Daryl Halligan on FOX but who is Nine sending to NZ?
I think it will be Mat Thompson as the main caller. And probably Brett Finch and someone else that won’t be involved in Origin 2 coverage.
I guess Thompson on Nine and the Sky NZ crew on FOX?
Wonder how it will all be done though on both channels. As Smith is calling tonight’s game, and he normally does Sunday afternoon. Will Fox use the Sky graphics or choose Nines if they use their own callers. The callers for nine will be Thompson, Gus and Wally/ Freddy Origin is still a few days and NZ is a 4 hour flight.
