333 STATE OF ORIGIN III

WEDNESDAY, JULY 12
EXCLUSIVE, LIVE AND FREE ON CHANNEL 9 AND 9NOW

CAPTAINS CAMS ON 9NOW:
DALY CHERRY-EVANS AND JAMES TEDESCO

The series may be won but there are still scores to be settled when State of Origin III is exclusive, live and free on Channel 9HD and 9Now on Wednesday at 7.00pm AEST.

Billy Slater’s Queenslanders are gunning for a series whitewash, the first since 2010, in their quest for domination and a place in Origin history as only the fifth Maroons team in 42 years to win a series 3-0.

The New South Wales Blues have opted for a facelift by naming seven new players as coach Brad Fittler hunts a win to avoid embarrassment on home soil in Sydney.

Rabbitohs stars Cody Walker, Cameron Murray and Keaon Koloamatangi line up in the starting side skippered by James Tedesco, while Knights outside back Bradman Best makes his debut after stating his hatred for Queensland in the lead-up to the game.

Wide World of Sports ’ exclusive Origin coverage will be hosted by James Bracey and feature the biggest names in modern rugby league history, with Origin legends Andrew Johns, Cameron Smith, Johnathan Thurston, Phil Gould, Darren Lockyer, Paul Vautin and Paul Gallen on hand to dissect every moment of the action.

Rounding out the team is Danika Mason, delivering all the breaking news in the lead-up to kick-off, along with Allana Ferguson, and Mathew Thompson in the commentary box, where he will be joined by two of the greatest ever NSW and Queensland representatives, Andrew Johns and Cameron Smith.

Plus, 9Now will stream the game live with three additional second-screen streams to choose from, ensuring viewers won’t miss a thing:

  • Player Cam NSW – James Tedesco
  • Player Cam QLD – Daly Cherry-Evans
  • Spidercam – An eagle-eye view of play to take you that little bit closer to the action

And after the game you can catch up with 9Now mini-match for all the best bits in a 20-minute breakdown.

I thought there was no media aceess at Accor due to their contract

The Nine feed coming through a fox international telecast in downtown Tokyo. Not sure how it all works but can confirm it’s being streamed live in a Tokyo pub.

No, the strike is on players appearing on media.

Watching the State of Origin live on the alternate angles through 9Now means that I won’t have to put up with the ads, the Nine VO Guy and the Nine’s NRL commentary team.

During “100% Footy” on Monday night, they mentioned that only the two captains will be speaking at the end of the match on the podium (in the post-match presentations).

But yes, no other player interactions by the looks of it.

I thought they were also banning cameras in the rooms, but that doesn’t seem to have happened.

I heard about the banning the cameras in the rooms too. So im not sure what’s the deal is there and the turnaround.

The RLPA statement mentions the boycott of “Media opportunities in the dressing rooms”, so I would assume that only refers to journalist access (things like Nine sending someone into the winning sheds after the game)

That makes more sense, must have been misinterpreted (or overexaggerated) by the article I read. (either Nine or Fox papers)
