No opportunity to ever see post match show in Perth for Thursday and Friday Night footy. Gem just fades out after final whistle.
Would be good if Nine set up a standalone stream on 9Now with full coverage instead of relying on the Gem channel stream

Mat Thompson is calling today’s ANZAC Day game between the Chooks and Dragons.
I wonder why Ray Warren isn’t calling it?
This is as a big as a regular season game gets.

Am also surprised Ray Warren isn’t calling. It’s one of the biggest matches in the regular season. Mat Thompson has been good though.

I hope Thompson gets to call an Origin game this year.

If Ray doesn’t outright retire at the end of this year, surely he’ll only do Origin + the Grand Final in the future?
I don’t think that’s fair to Thompson.
He’s got to call more than just the BIG games.

I much prefer Peter Psaltis of the Channel 9 callers.

Peter is good too.
He does sound similar to Thompson.
Thompson is alright but he gets overexcited and ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ too often in reaction to above average tackles, rather than saving it for just the actual big hits. Psaltis does a better job of reading the play and picking the right times to get excited, and also just supporting the pictures in general play rather than describing every single thing that’s happening.
