He had announced he is retiring from commentary effective immediately.

Big loss for the Continuous Call Team. Are there anyone in CCT who can step up to the role? Does 2GB need to recruit another commentator?

EDIT: Ray Hadley said on his morning show today that himself had told station management he would call more matches this year, while Mark Levy would be the main commentator. Levy will be joined by Mathew Thompson and Chris Warren.

According to this Mark Levy will become the lead caller. He only started calling games last year as a fill-in.

To me Chris Warren was the obvious choice to replace Morrow as lead caller.

ABC, Triple M and SEN stations in NSW, ACT and QLD will broadcast the Indigenous v Maori All Stars doubleheader live from Townsville this evening. Their coverage will also be available online and in app around Australia.

ABC coverage won’t be on broadcast radio - only available on their Listen app according to this morning’s discussion on ABC Brisbane. Instead cricket will take precedence.

Whilst I agree he also is the media manager at the tigers I believe and has a couple of other jobs that he does.

During half time of Indigenous v Maori All Stars game at Townsville, Andrew Moore revealed that himself and his ABC Grandstand Rugby League colleagues would broadcast live from Las Vegas on the weekend of March 2-3. There would be a three-hour show from Vegas on Friday night local time (Saturday afternoon AEDT) ahead of the historic season opening doubleheader at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday night local time (Sunday afternoon AEDT).

Andrew said during the three-quarter time break that the trip was only possible after the team was called to an emergency interview at the US consulate in Sydney, after which they were granted work visas. That was the reason why the All Stars game was called off tube in Sydney.

EDIT: Andrew said in the promo that he would call the Las Vegas matches with John Gibbs and Ryan Hoffman.

Does anyone know if any stations are doing anymore games over the weekend?

TRIPLE M REVEALS ALL-STAR COMMENTARY LINE UP FOR NRL 2024 SEASON

INCLUDING WENDELL SAILOR, RYAN GIRDLER, GORDEN TALLIS, BEN TE’O, JAMES GRAHAM, AND YOUNG GUNS WADE GRAHAM AND AARON WOODS

Triple M NRL is ready to rock the 2024 NRL season with the best names in the business, including league legends Wendell Sailor, Gorden Tallis, Ryan Girdler, James Graham, Wade Graham and current player Aaron Woods. All are set to headline Triple M’s all-star NRL commentary line up for an epic 2024 season.

With a big year ahead for NRL fans, including the season opener in Las Vegas, listeners will continue to tune in to live and local commentary across all key games. Triple M boasts unrivalled NRL focused radio shows that are available to listen to live on-air across NSW and Queensland metro and regional markets, and to live stream on LiSTNR.

The legendary commentary team will also include footy commentators at the top of their game; Dan Ginnane, Anthony Maroon, Ben Dobbin, Emma Lawrence, and Tony Squires, who will bring all the action as soon as it happens straight to fans’ ears.

Since making his debut for the Penrith Panthers while still in high school, Wade Graham’s professional career went from strength to strength, right up to the announcement of his retirement at the end of the 2023 season. As a former Cronulla Sharks skipper, Graham also represented NSW in State of Origin and Australia in the World Cup and is ready to swap the footy boots for the microphone in 2024.

Australian and NSW forward, Aaron Woods also re-joins Triple M NRL line up. He currently plays for the Manly Sea Eagles, having previously captained West Tigers and played for the St George Illawarra Dragons, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and the Cronulla Sharks.

He’s the British Bulldog who quickly made a name for himself on Australian soil as a passionate prop, and James Graham will reignite Triple M’s airways just like he did with his next level ball skills that played a major role in the Bulldogs attack in the 2014 NRL Grand Final. The fiery redhead debuted for Canterbury, however moved to St George Illawarra in 2018 to help them to the finals and reach his 400th first-grade game the following year, before retiring.

Triple M’s NRL coverage will also be featured on its Rush Hour Drive shows in Sydney, Brisbane and its state-wide regional NSW and Queensland markets. And on LiSTNR, the Footy Talk podcast will have four shows a week featuring some of the biggest names in the game including Wade Graham, Aaron Woods, Josh Reynolds and Gorden Tallis.

Triple M will cover all key games from season kick off on Saturday 2 March, right up until the final whistle of the Grand Final on Sunday October 1.

SCA Head of Sports Content, Ewan Giles, said: “It’s great to have so many big names on the Triple M NRL call team. We are blessed to have some of the sharpest NRL minds joined by new voices who are still on the field playing at the highest level.”

Wade Graham said: “I’m excited to get behind the mic to commentate and analyse a game that I know and love. What better way to spend my time off the field.”

Triple M’s NRL coverage and Triple M’s dedicated sports shows are available throughout NSW and Queensland on the Triple M Network’s metro and regional stations and on LiSTNR.

No mention of Triple M going to Las Vegas. Are they doing the cheap and nasty like Nine and calling it off a tv?

2GB will be in Las Vegas.

I think they’ll be off screen with the odd cross to Aaron Woods who is part of the Manly squad over there (but unlikely to make the final 18). That said they’ve usually been open about when they’ve gone off tube as opposed to being at the ground.

I believe they are over there.
James Graham, Aaron Woods and Ben Dobbin are over there at the moment, not sure if there’s any more that headed over, so I’m assuming they’ll call from Vegas.
