Nova Network

They should’ve done this at the start of the year. Not a week or so in.

Australian media: we’re not that smart.

Watch Nova national drive figures drop as a result. Losing Tim Blackwell in Drive will be a big thing for the stations nationally.

Happy for Tim, 25 years carrying Nova finally pays off with the big gig.

I have feeling this is exactly what will happen.

It’s interesting that the five hosts touched on exactly what has been working well in their respective shows and probably highlighted the challenges ahead.

Fitzy, Wippa and Kate mentioned how Sydney are so used to them in the mornings when they get the kids ready for school and drop them off. Their content has been relatable because all three hosts have school aged children and they share many family stories.

What works really well for Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel is they have a lot of segments where Tim pits
Ricki-Lee against Joel. A lot of the content is also about media, celebrities and gossip which is suitable for listeners who don’t want to think about serious issues on their drive home or to the gym.

I do wonder whether Ricki-Lee and Tim can cover the family stuff and serious issues as well as FWK. They will also have to get rid of a lot of their games unless they plan to have lots of special guests come in. Losing Joel nationally is also not so great. Fitzy, Wippa and Kate can do the lighter stuff in the afternoon but might have to skip the more serious topics and interviews they had often been covering.

They might keep Quick Draw

As I said, they could keep some segments but would require guests for them, so would not be heard weekly or as often as now. Quick Draw could return because they usually have guest to play it.

Apologies if I missed reading this, but I read in a news.com.au article Joel’s next adventure will be announced during drive

Yep. Mention it on FWK this morning with Tim and Ricki-Lee in studio

Yeah strange timing to not start the year with the changes.

This whole change up just doesn’t make much sense to me. I often listen to Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel on my way home and they do well in that timeslot. Their content is more fun and pop culture which really works at that time of day. I am not that interested in Fitzy and Wippa and they seem too similar style to Will and Woody on KIIS at that time. I know Kate is there but doesn’t she only do 3 days a week? If so I am definitely more likely now to flick over to Fox and listen to Carrie and Tommy.

Ricki-Lee also mentioned her timeslot move on her Instagram at lunchtime.

Joel’s new solo show starts at 12pm from April.

Joel Creasey is going solo with The Joel Creasey Show starting April. Interesting to see that he’s not joining the Perth Brekky show as a permanent on-air talent, could Nathan be returning?? I wonder if Joel’s Show would be replacing The Chrissie Shawn Show?

New creative direction Nova is heading? This looks nothing like what they’re currently having.

Roc Grotesk is the typeface there.

Does that mean that he’ll do 12-2pm before Chrissie Swan??

Would mean less for Mel Tracina if he’s from 12pm.

He said he’s starting on Lunchtime meaning 12pm or 1pm

Seems like 12-2 - Joel, 2-4 Chrissie

It looks like. Which is better I’d reckon. I like the white background with the black and red wordtext

I know that Joel has said that he is going solo, but I wonder whether or not he’ll have someone in the studio with him (like how chrissie has jack). I reckon Joel and Mel Tracina could work quite nicely
