They have been found. All be revealed tomorrow morning

Jase and Lauren’s Hide & Seek is over. They were found late this afternoon. The location will be revealed on tomorrow’s show.

I’m keen to see where they were as yesterday I was set on them being in the vicinity of Queen Vic market based on quite a few clue. Had a bit of a look around there today. The last clue threw me so I may have been completely off and is probably what someone used to pinpoint them.

I thought they weren’t “allowed” to be found out of 6am-6pm weekdays?

No it ran all weekend except between 6pm and 6am, the same as last time. Jase and Lauren did their show 8-10am both Saturday/Sunday. Melbourne also had rolling coverage over the weekend.

The competition is really designed to be a weekend promotion allowing for maximum participation from listeners while they are not at work.

It finished on a Sunday evening last year as well allowing the hosts to spend Sunday night at home before the Monday show. I cant help but feel thats a little bit manufactured…

Yes it is clearly designed to be a weekend event as they strategically start it towards the end of a week.

Although it didn’t end on a Sunday last year. Last year it went into a 5th day, commencing on a Friday going into the following week. The winner last year won $84k, this years winner I believe will be a bit over $100k.

The moment Jase and Lauren were found was played after 8am today.

37-year-old lawyer Charles found them and Clint and won $94,500.

The location is a short walk from Albert Road.

The team even set up a fake business Caravan Specialists Solutions at the front of the office.

The next clue was apparently going to be “sleeping with the enemy”

I still don’t understand the caravan references from their explanations? That’s 2 years now where they haven’t ventured that far from the Nova studios.

The clues were very very cryptic and can lead you down endless paths. I’m still surprised they were found based on what was revealed. I know it isn’t meant to be easy but their explanations of most of them felt pretty off.

I got caught up on the birthday reference thinking King or Queens birthday i.e. Kings street, Queen Vic Market etc. Even the 22minute thing matched to Queen Vic Market as it’s about that distance from Nova studios and also within an hour walking to the footy (both MCG and Marvel). It was also at stop 7 on the tram line and there was “kind of” a market in Narre Warren (marketplace at Fountain Gate) along with lots of shopping, buying and selling references. These references feel more logical than the explanations they gave for where they were. Just shows how easily you can be lead down a completely wrong path that sounds very convincing when all the clues are super cryptic.

Apparently the winner was Charles Noonan who was on Australian Survivor. Does that sound a bit suss?

The video from yesterday’s winning moment has been posted on Jase and Lauren’s socials.

This is Charles Noonan’s profile from Australian Survivor thread (he competed in Titans v Rebels in 2023). He was described as a 35-year-old litigation lawyer.

It seems to match the Charles who won the hide and seek game.

EDIT: group photo and all the clues

The winner has definitely lead to a lot of skepticism over the outcome. When he came into the studio, they didn’t even ask him what clues he pieced together to get there. There was just some comment about seeing a danger sign on maps with the recent clue (which there would be heaps in Melbourne).

A lot of the clues seem to be more diversions than anything.. Which makes you wonder given he was on Survivor if he has any connections. Just some examples of how ridiculous some clues and explanations were:

  • “Is nonna making sushi for dinner?: Nana’s Place restaurant is around the corner" They said Nonna when it’s "Nana"and what’s the sushi reference? A complete diversion.
    - “I love a big birthday celebration: street number 16 is also a big birthday celebration" You could literally make a birthday clue about almost any age or number then
  • “We are busy on school holidays: a fake caravan business was set up at the address to throw off those walking past" Why would a caravan store be busy in school holidays? And even so, how would anyone know their fake caravan business was there unless you were in the area? It was set up for the competition, you could never find it by researching online and no real clues even really lead to caravans either.
