They (Nova) should be very proud of picking up Jase & Lauren and taking them to No.1 in the Melbourne radio ratings.
Credit to Jase & Lauren for their spectacular radio win. No credit to K&J who have bombed in the Victorian capital and turned off the remaining listeners who did tune into their show by broadcasting NSFW content.

The only thing I’m worried about with them staying on is that they might come back a few weeks later than Kyle & Jackie O and Fifi, Fev & Nick. Lauren mentioned this week that she is going overseas after Christmas.
But perhaps not with the Australian Open, which is obviously a big Melbourne event, and Clint will be working on (and perhaps Lauren too) for Nine.

It’s really becoming a battle between Nova100 and The Fox.
Fifi, Fev & Nick will be releasing updated podcasts over the holiday period which will help to keep their brand fresh over the break. And obviously a strategy to go head to head with Jase & Lauren remaining on air for longer.

Jase and Lauren will broadcast live from Gumbuya World wildlife and theme park, south east of Melbourne, next Thursday morning (December 12). They are giving away 100 family passes which can be won by registering through the Win page on the Nova FM website.
Note: Gumbuya World will open its doors to the rest of the public at 11am that day.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, since the start of this week, if the hosts of Jase and Lauren or a listener say the word Christmas during the show, the producer will play Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas as a “punishment”. This has happened multiple times in every episode.

The last 2 days I’ve heard them play the song and I’ve had them on only for about 20 mins each time.

I’m only assuming it’ll stop as we get to an acceptable distance from Christmas Day, which is when people should really be starting to celebrate Christmas.

Jase and Lauren are only on air for one more week, so then it will stop.
In previous years they played this “game” in November, as a play on it being too early to talk about Christmas. This year they didn’t start it until November 27th, so I’m guessing they/management decided it was too risky in the competitive environment, but ok for survey break.
