I hope this new novanation will have the quality and shows that the old novanation had and not be just a lifeless 24/7 stream with slightly more up-tempo music then Nova plays.

I’m looking forward to streaming it from tomorrow. It will be interesting to hear what dance throwbacks they play, hopefully it will be similar to Heart Dance and KISSTORY UK.

Yeah I remember it playing a lot of the still common DJ shows e.g. ASOT, ABGT, Hardwell on air etc. and not to mention guest sets from local DJs like John Course which I hope they continue with.

I recall Nova96.9 doing a deal with Sydney’s Home nightclub at Cockle Bayy Wharf where they’d simulcast “Famous” nights every Saturday night.

This may have been pre-Novanation DAB+.

“Atomic City” by U2 would be one. Triple M has been playing it regularly since its release at the end of September (speaking of which, it got another run on Triple M Nights with Dave Gleeson tonight at 8:30pm AEDST).

So Triple M has it covered. No need for a whole Nova station when there is not much “modern rock” music making an impact at the moment.

Triple M tried a modern rock format on DAB in 2017 - 18 and it didn’t rate, and was replaced by MMM Aussie which also didn’t rate and was replaced by MMM Soft Rock.

It would therefore be a complete waste of time for Nova to try it, if it hasn’t worked in the past.
