Nova Network

If they’re too similar, no need to merge them, just drop throwbacks on Digital and have an alternate rock format by itself.

Frankly anything on digital that isn’t decades based and could stand up by itself would be a win.

Isn’t that what they’ve already done when they removed “Never more than 2 ads in a row” and “Sounds Different”?

Nova only became the number one under 40s station nationally in 2012. Before that it was number 2 behind the Hit network (or today network as it was known then).

And only then, the Today Network performed as well as it did nationally because of a strong 2Day and Fox.

Not even Hamish & Andy could stop Nova outside of Melbourne and Sydney - notoriously it took B105 a good nunber of years to take #1 drive in Brisbane off Nova.

Apart from Brisbane , Nova wasn’t as strong as it was until the change of format in 2011-12 and changes to breakfast in Sydney and Melbourne around that time, where it toppled the today network to become number 1 for under 40s.

At 8:20pm tonight on Smallzy’s Surgery, there was an interview with former Little Mix member, Leigh-Anne, on either side of the program playing her new song “Don’t Say Love”.

Another perfect example of Nova delaying playing new music for the first time by at least a month.

Accoridng to the NOW PLAYING on the Nova website, it looks like Nova96.9 is playing a different track to other markets, same with Perth - only Nova100 & Nova106.9 look to be sharing a playlist.

Is this confirmed? Or is Sydney just running ahead/behind their sister stations?

According to the radio app it seems to be the same playlist. Nova 969 is a song behind Nova 100

Could we expect Nova launching 2 New Stations on the Nova Player App? One to Include Disco and Club Classics and another to Play Alternative and Hard Rock.

Disco from the 70s? Even 2WS is moving away from 70s music. Nova has never played it.

Smooth Vintage plays some 70s disco. Nova already plays some club classics on Nova 90s and Noughties / Throwbacks.

Unsure if/when I missed this, but when did Nova reintroduce NovaNation?

I never saw that coming! Maybe this is in response to iHeartDance launching in Melb and GC DAB.

If anybody gets to tune in, let us know if it’s good, decent weekend night-time dance radio - just like the late 90’s/early 00’s.

It’s what is missing on our radio’s these days (or weekends)…

I’ll be listening. From the Instagram ad it looks like it’s just a one hour set.
