Kate Richie will join as a guest on Fitzy and Wippa tomorrow morning after 8 as Tim Blackwell metioned on the drive show

As much as this sucks for Sarah, I think its a good move. Ricki Lee is great on drive and Kate will fit in really well with Fitzy and Wippa.
If the really wanted to keep Sarah they could have done the following:
6-9 Fitzy, Wippa and Kate
9-12 Jamie Row and Sarah
12-2 Ben, Liam and Belle
2-4 Chrissie Swan
4-6 Ricki Lee, Tim and Joel
6-7 Fitzy Wippa and Kate
7-10 Smallzy
10- 12 Mason

And thrown Mel Tracina under the bus?
Jamie Row doesn’t need a sidekick. Perhaps Kate Ritchie should have teamed up with Chrissie Swan. She struggles on her own and is pretty much constantly bantering with her sidekick now.

I’d love to see it branded as ‘Kate, Fitzy and Wippa’, so it doesn’t feel like Kate has just been added on at the end.
But it’s an awesome trio nonetheless. It’s a pity other states lose Kate (and before anyone says it, yes I know I can listen on the podcast, lol).

I reckon Fitzy and Wippa will leave at the end of the year and they’ll dump Kate so they can launch a fresh new and young show.

Old news. They’ve been talking about it since 4pm.
It’s interesting how they announced it. They started the show with the regular Kate, Tim and Joel intro and had a regular chat. When it was time for a song, they played the new Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel intro and all the bumpers to then make the big announcement.

According to news.com.au, the announcement of Kate Ritchie joining the Fitzy & Wippa show will be tomorrow.
Drive done, and only Breakfast to go.
I guess
Young show no way, Nova is more interested in skewing older as their core audience is now 25-54 year old women. They are no longer a station that targets 18-39 year olds. Cada and Triple J target those demographics.
Whether the show continues past 2023 also will depend on how long Fitzy & Wippa are contracted to the network, and who decides to end the show, that is my guess.. Also does Nova have someone to replace them or will they be forced to network Ben & Liam from Melbourne into Sydney.
The ratings surveys this year will make interesting reading,

Even though I suppose this news has been known for a while, I still think Kate is a big loss from the Drive program. Her infectious personality and banter with her co-hosts will be sorely missed and hopefully she’ll fit in seamlessly with Fitzy and Wippa. I suppose the most important question is, will Quick Draw follow her to breakfast?
