Nova Network

Yes. They seem to be chasing the worst radio station and their playlist just gets worse and worse. Horrible list of “Most Played” songs this week. Almost no new music. Barely any recent hits and of those some of them are a year old now.

Have you actually been listening? I have and I haven’t heard at least half of those songs this week being played.

They’re playing plenty of new music at the moment. Probably the most consistent in years.

  • lasting lover
  • therefore I am
  • love on display
  • fly away
  • cmon
  • prisoner
  • mood
  • positions
  • holy
  • save your tears

I have heard those played at least twice a day all week so far.

Yes, but they get completely outweighed by the repetitive old shit that gets played five times a day. The list above proves it.

I’m saying that list is wrong. I’ve been listening a lot this week due to a change in routine and there really hasn’t been very many “throwbacks” at all.

It comes from Radio Volna that monitors radio station playlists 24 hours a day. That list would have been based on the past week.

You say that list is most played?

I haven’t heard them play the following songs at all since Monday, not once:

  • the Veronicas
  • Coldplay
  • Ed Sheeran
  • Bruno Mars
  • Jay Sean
  • black eyed peas

If they have been most played then something isn’t right. I haven’t heard them once.

There has definitely been a shift since Monday.

They can’t even get the main channel in order, and they go set up another station?

Here’s a better website than Radio Volna to check the most played songs on the station (and several others). Also includes their playlist from the past week.

It seems more accurate. I’ll use it in future.

Marty Sheargold (who will host Triple M Melbourne breakfast from January 18 next year) has taken a swipe at his former Nova colleagues Kate Ritchie and Tim Blackwell, saying he had lost interest in the drive show and it was like groundhog day. How ungracious.

Lol he would say that on the actual show.

Let’s see how gracious he will be when he realises how hard it will be to keep it fresh and interesting every day when he is hosting a show on his own next year.

New Nova stations on radio app this morning. Disappointing to see yet another network do the same thing with stations based on years. Yawrn

This could have been a good opportunity to bring back a dance music station .

They’ve been there since 1 December.

Former Mix 102.3 breakfast presenter, Jodie Oddy, will be heard on Nova 91.9 next week, filling in for its breakfast newsreader, Taylee Jones.

“Drivers License” by Olivia Rodrigo is #1 on the ARIA singles chart. Not only that, but it has been Spotify’s most streamed track for about a week.

Has it been played on Nova 96.9 today? The Lava logs say nope

I just find that a bit amusing.

And that’s the problem with Nova.

It’s not a leader in playing fresh hits and new music. It’s just a follower these days

It is on high rotation on KIIS 106.5.

Seriously the programmers at Nova have no idea.

Yeah. I heard them play the awful version of Fast Car by Jonas Blue both today and yesterday. It’s bad enough it’s still bting played on Nova but twice in two days. :face_vomiting: Such rubbish programming.
