Nova Network

Yes it is called Nova 10s, all throwbacks from the 2010’s only.

BTW Nova have changed their positioner again.
They are now using “Turn up the feel good” and non stop feel good hits.

Obviously this is to take on 2day and the Hit networks get that feeling in 2021.

Again Nova should focus more on competing with KIIS in Sydney rather then focusing on 2day fm which most likely will flop again in 2021.

God they change their positioner every day nearly

Their positioning statements are confusing they certainly don’t know what they are.
This morning I have heard-

Turn up the feel good
Non stop feel good hits
Non stop hits
Fresh hits and throwbacks

And their competitors have clear positioning statements

Sydney’s #1 Hit music station
Get that Feeling

How about

nova means new music
Or something clear and cut through, stop chasing the tiny 2day audience, stop being reactive and be proactive

Not in Melbourne - Nova Noughties here.

Be curious to see what they’re doing in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth

It’s Nova 90’s in Brisbane.

It looks like they have programmed it to each markets favourite era of throwbacks.
TBH Nova 10’s is to close to the playlist of Nova 969 to be worth listening to.

Bring back Novanation. or Nova Sounds Different as a dab+ station.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw that Nova 10s is the new Sydney DAB+ station:

“Maybe this would be an OK idea in 5-10 years from now, but isn’t December 2020 a bit early to launch a station dedicated to music from a decade which has only just finished?”

Absolute Radio did it first, back in November 2019 (yes, before the decade was even finished!)

Nothing. Only Nova 937, Smooth FM and Coles Radio still. They do run Nova and Smooth at 48kbps, and Coles at 32kbps, probably no room for another station.

Can’t see any new Nova station in Adelaide but we do have a Smooth 90s which I assume is new.

All stations available to stream on the Nova app, which I’m guessing was the main point?

Only room for one station in each city, but direct listeners as well to stream where they can choose. Its good they’ve got the Throwback station for a bit of everything

Now would be the perfect time to go all in on new music then.

Maybe not when streaming and DAB probably still makes up such a small percentage of their audience

Listened to Nova Perth for about an hour, lots of mentions of now being Perth’s only hit music station. Ross was welcoming new listeners switching over from 92.9 and handing out cash.

Throughout that whole hour, there was not one mention of the 937 frequency which I thought was interesting

The name Nova10s reminds me of pre-Smallzy when we had the Nova19s at night.

I never quite understood how it worked… was it back to back top 19 countdowns?

Top 19 requests every night.
