I’ll be recording channel 5 & 80 here In Mildura the switch over should be Interesting thank goodness for PVR’s, Such a shame that we won’t be getting 9 HD dose anyone know If that’s the only channel Mildura will miss out on after the switch.

Your PVR will likely stop recording when the signal is switched off and will need to be reactivated manually after the change.
Just looked at all the channel details on WIN what on earth are they doing showing gold using MPEG4 Gold would have the lowest number of viewers out of all of WIN’s channels.

[/quote]You answered your own question. Using MPEG4 means it will take up the least amount of bandwidth possible.
Gold has been MPEG4 since WIN launched HD and Life in March.

Are they going to change the fonts and graphics and background df WIN news to reflect ten eyewitness news? Because some of the graphics now still contain some nine news elements to it?
…common sense would suggest that a refresh for Friday is in order. Considering the look and feel of the whole station is about to change it’d make sense to refresh the look of the news too. Two more sleeps and we’ll know. Tasmania will air the first bulletin at 5:30 so no doubt the forums will be busy as! If they are wanting a new look for the evening bulletin one would think there would be generic style updates running through the day in an effort to not give too much away.
WIN News sets are very Nine-inspired I wonder whether that will eventually change?
It would probably be relatively easy to change the sets of WIN News, given that they’re mostly just a chroma key and a desk…

QLD is the only one I see having issues in this way (It has a very dodgy knockoff of the Nine style newsdesk).

6pm local news could pay off for WIN.
Seeing as many in VIC & half of NSW (foe example) would tune in thinking Peter Hitchener / Peter Overton’s is on… And of course stay to watch their local areas news?
