Nine (WIN)

I think 9Gem goes MPEG-4 on the 21st of May in all WIN areas.

Do you have or read a source confirming this news?

Source?

An updated WIN Network advisory advertisement has a strap graphic on it stating that the change will occur on the 21st. I can’t cap but maybe another user can provide proof

Nice. Did it mention all WIN areas as well? If not, which area did you see this notice?

it just said “9Gem will go MPEG-4 on May 21”. I’m in Regional Victoria and I’m guessing it would be a network-wide ad so I’m assuming the roll-out will be network-wide as well.

Will be interesting how fetch handles the change

Has anyone lost 9Gem in WIN areas yet?

Well today was the switchover date to MPEG4.

Still MPEG2 in Regional QLD.

Have all the eastern states changed

I’m not sure. I know it has changed in Regional QLD where I am. I would assume it would have happened at other places as well.

Only Qld confirmed so far. I can’t check if WA has changed until later today.

@Aaron_Evans_2005, thanks for confirming channel changes for Canberra for me as I also live in Canberra, specifically near Woden. Also, what about Victoria and Tasmania? @TBoy will hopefully tell us about the Regional Victoria changes to WIN, and @ando9185 will do the Tasmania WIN (TVT) changes. :joy: Oh wait that area’s commercial TV stations has already almost fully converted to MPEG-4 with the exceptions of the channels 5, 6 and 8, which are still in the MPEG-2 format.
