Gem not covering Nine WWOS either in Victoria regional
Sometimes when the programs are timeshifted but when programs are on the same time as the gem on nine it uses the same watermark as the gem on nine
I don’t know the situation well in Western Australia but I can speak from experience in the eastern states.
Ahh, that makes sense. Just realised the initial NRL broadcast on Gem would have pushed the prime time schedule back.
Business as usual in WA. Gem is normal aspect and in HD.
According to another forum, WIN are running a text scroll across the bottom of Gem advising they are aware of the issue.
Over there I believe they put it in GEM I think, but in NSW and Queenslanf NRL is shown on the main channel and WIN.HD.
I presume that GEM is still in HD in Western Australia?
Problems might have started when GEM was converted from HD to SD.
Is it possible that nine could have forgotten to give media hub a clean feed of GEM in SD?
NBN doesn’t have the squashed GEM issue, so can’t see how that can be the problem, I would think NBN & WIN both get the same feed.
No video or audio on Extra and Gold in WA today.
In other words, they’re off air?
I guess so. They’re still active in the channel table.
Still no fix on the 4:3 gem issue but they have got the coverup happening just fine !
Is extra still on LCN 82 and gold on LCN 84 over there in WA?
The NBL grand final didn’t look very good on GEM on WIN today.
Its more zoomed in now
GEM looks worse than it did yesterday . Even more squished 4:3.
WIN in South Australia seem to be broadcasting One and 7Mate in MPEG4 since WINHD launched. Not sure if this is an inadvertent glitch, or a deliberate and permanent change.
In addition, there is a glitch where 7Mate hasn’t been allocated a LCN (should be 60), so is bumped into the 350+ range.
Also, Gold isn’t being broadcast either, although Extra is.
9Gem is in 4:3 like the rest of the network.
Why can’t WIN simply ask 9 how they transitioned GEMHD to SD. If 9 could do it … why can’t WIN after nearly one week? May as well ditch GEM if it is too hard as it is unwatchable. Watching the NRL in 4:3 with stretching and picture quality comparable to the moon transmissions is just wrong!
If southern cross and win had expanded statewide in South Australia, and put out a JV carrying ten, maybe it could have lessen the problems at media hub. It looks very messy to me.
I doubt that WIN is willing to ask nine for help… They haven’t been the best of friends.
Maybe if WIN and nine had co-operated better and worked together it could have solved most of the problems.
To see regional viewers watching a 4:3 version of GEM for a few days at least is not good enough in my view,
