Which they obviously won’t.
they will just use 10 branding can see all 3 commercial channels will drop local branding for metro branding
But it’s not referred to that on-air or officially these days. It’s either Millionaire Hot Seat or just Hot Seat. No one calls it by Who Wants to be a Millionaire?: Hot Seat.
I saw a full-screen SCA logo during an ad break on Gem over the weekend.
Not sure exactly what it was (some sort of bumper or the end of a promo), but it was kinda WIN-esque. Just the three letters in a big blue circle.
On tonights Project, Waleed closed the show by throwing to an extended preview of the new season of Survivor. WIN didn’t show the preview, instead, showing a (presumably WIN produced) extended community service announcement for organ donation before going to Masterchef.
Guess WIN figured there was no point promoting survivor with the affiliation swap.
Yep, that’s it
Ex-WIN presenter Paul Taylor likes to refer to his own bulletin in Darwin as National Nine News as-well…
I don’t hate it though.
I guess he’s just used to it for so many years.
Just as WIN was so comfortable with Nine since forever until they partnered up with 10.
Something I have been thinking could be the reason WIN have not been advertising the affiliation switch, if it is true there channels will be carrying the Nine Branding and not the WIN brand for program advertising could this be the reason why and they can’t advertised the Nine brand while under the Ten affiliation?
Just a thought…
Yeah, I’ve been thinking along those lines too. If the WIN brand is going to take a back seat (fingers crossed!) and Nine branding will be essentially intact it will be a bit weird advertising Nine shows while still under the Ten affiliation.
Judging by some of the other posts around - e.g. a promo from The Project not showing in WIN areas etc… it sounds like there’s already preparations happening, but rather than advertising it’s the reverse and de-advertising programs they won’t have.
I reckon the last two weeks we’ll definitely hear a bit more promotion and noise because there will need to be announcements about it to get people ready, probably more from WIN than SCA though just like the reverse of last time.
It is looking good though for the WIN brand to be potentially taking a back seat/on the road to retirement.
is the WIN dropping the WIN logo for programming apart from WIN produced stuff just speculation or has that been confirmed? think i just missed something?
Yeah I doubt WIN branding will be disappearing come July 1
Don’t worry… we will still see plenty of WIN and its mappy. I think they are too proud to retire their brand
Based on speculation from the original announcement, but it would be a big thing for Nine to go from having their brand across the regional areas to going back to the dodgy cover ups and things from WIN.
I can’t remember the exact wording but it was interpreted by several here as Nine branding but with WIN branding still existing. e.g. Nine PRG, Nine logo, Nine promotions etc… but regular things like “Around Australia, you’re watching the WIN Network” or “You’re watching Nine on the WIN Network” so the brand could still exist significantly but the redoing all promos etc… would no longer be required.
Kevin Perry says the WIN brand (as a channel) will go come July 1 according to his sources. Make of that what you will. I personally think it’s the right time for WIN brand to go. Nine would absolutely want it and this time round they would have had the upper hand in negotiations.
Yep, that’s how I feel. I never thought I’d see the Southern Cross Tas brand disappear but that went very quickly and people moved on, I feel like it will be the same for this although still with bits of the WIN brand because they won’t want it to go completely… for how long that remains though, I’m not sure.
As a kid I always wanted to have the full suite of “mainland” channels with 7, 9 and 10, we might finally get that all at once in a couple of weeks.
And more than likely 10 HD again! (TDT was originally in HD, yeah?)
I think you’ll all be pleasantly surprised….
Dotty WIN confirmed…
