Nine (WIN)

Krock as a name means nothing anymore due to their playlist, they may as well call themselves 95.5 The Cat.

With the changes fast approaching, is WIN Television going to air a promo that says “your favourite nine network programs returning right here on eight,”? Because I seem to recall SCA in June 2016 saying “your favourite nine network programs are coming right here on five,”. Does anybody remember that?

Maybe if it was Darwin.

The earliest upload I could find on YouTube was 12 June 2016, so maybe they’ll start these types of promos next week.

Last year, WIN started the promos on June 1.

I’ve been checking each morning, still no luck.

It will come as the end of the current month approaches

I reckon from this week or next week we’ll start hearing more of the promotion of things from WIN about what’s coming, whether it’s ads for The Block and coming soon type shows or just generic Nine programming coming home to WIN (or 8 or whatever slogan they use or call themselves).
By the last week there will likely be more.

Unlikely to see much on SC stations as they haven’t even signed the agreement yet and have only done the intention to have an agreement talks, which could still ultimately fall through - unlikely though.

Have enjoyed going through some of the clips from last time the swap happened though. Thanks to those who took the time to upload them, I’m not completely sure who to tag but I feel like they’d be members here!

Here’s one for the sport from WIN.

And this one here has the actual switchover from all the affected channels.

They should’ve started spamming ad breaks with promos about the affiliation swap this week (Monday 31 May) to get a full month of informing viewers of new lineups (particularly news) and channel numbers. Even with all hands on deck in the promo department there will still be viewer confusion, but it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be trying their darnedest to try and make things crystal clear that Nine programs and channels will be back on WIN/Number 8.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see much noise about the affiliation change until 1 week out, otherwise WIN may be doing themselves a short term disservice by effectively advertising SCAs programs.

And that this is the 2nd change in 5 years, I think it will be fairly low key this time around.

Didn’t stop WIN and SCA having promos for both Nine and Ten programmes in the transition period (June 2016).

WIN are going to have to put some promotion into the change to their local news starting at 5:30pm; but otherwise they sort of hoped that viewers didn’t notice the affiliation swap 5 years ago so it will be back to normal now.

It’s a bit hard for WIN to promote Ninja Warrior now as that would appear to start around 20 June on SC Nine.

Edit: Ninja Warrior start date confirmed

Do we actually know that is going to happen yet, or is this still speculation fueled by web sources?

WIN issued a media release with that information. WIN News at 5:30 followed by National Nine News (sic).

WIN sure likes living in the mid-1990s-early 2000s. National Nine News and Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

Quite right. I think the difference this time is that WIN know the audience will follow the Nine programming so don’t have to over promote things this time. They had to heavily promote with the swap to the 10 affiliation to convince the audience to keep watching WIN.

SCA will be more defeatist this time. No major injection of higher rating programming for them. They know they revert back to third place with 10 programming. Therefore why bother promoting any of it lol.

Which is comparatively speaking, better than anything since presentation wise.

Dotty WIN and Mappy wasn’t invented yet.

SCA doesn’t exist in the viewers eyes anyway.

Technically, Millionaire Hot Seat is still Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Just look at the logo.

they will if they go back to the “Southern Cross Ten” branding, but that won’t look good for 10, who to viewers would be the same channel otherwise.
