If this is comparing the 6PM results, I would be a bit worried for Prime7 if Nine’s metro bulletin is this close.
well win tv is worse no wonder there is speculation bruce is looking at going back to 9

Why would Nine entertain hanging this millstone back on their necks? A ten-point drubbing in the year’s ratings surely can’t go unnoticed.
Their 4th placed network is ironically named, isn’t it?
yes but $$$ talks. If bruce isnt happy with theffliation he will might go back to 9 and it could be a bidding war of who will pay the most for the 9 afflication, sca or win??? i would dare say win could win
Sure, but how loudly is it talking? Loud enough for Nine to ignore SCA’s rating potential and move back to an affiliate they’ve had issues with in the past so they can occupy a significantly lower portion of the year-end ratings?
We’re both in regional areas, look at how much WIN is phoning it in with their programming. Scheduling reruns of Columbo during primetime looks like they’re deliberately taking the piss.
If Nine and WIN had been a point or two within each other at the end of the year, I would have said sure, the affiliation switch speculation has legs. I’ve been wrong before but I’m calling bullshit on any swap talk in the short term.
Feel free to @ me if I’m wrong, but that’s my gut feel.
Didn’t Nine Entertainment ask for their branding (not even any co-branding) in their affiliation agreement with SCA?
Bruce (his ego) wouldn’t agree to that, so I think these rumours are just nonsense, either negotiation posturing or spoiling.
Ten only need to look at the numbers to see they have a lot more work to do to improve their side of the bargain. Makes a mockery of the requirement to simulcast Ten’s schedule when some nights WIN struggles to get to 7-8%. With those numbers, WIN should have every right to schedule as they please until Ten can sort themselves out, which I’m not so sure they can do.
Admittedly, it is surprising to see Southern Cross Nine so close to Prime7 in network share. Many a night Prime7 delivers a win when Seven is second in metro.
I don’t know how much of a factor it may be for the general viewing populace, but Bruce’s sh!tst@in definitely puts me off watching his channels, both aesthetically & I don’t want burn-in on my new(ish) TV.
SCA is making more money for 9 in sales then WIN ever did.
I doubt SCA would ever give up on Nine, given the higher ratings and they make more money as a Nine affiliate.
What programming is WIN scheduling or could schedule that would rate higher than 10 programming? Columbo?
10 was The only commercial network to grow its audience share in 2020
I wonder if WIN also grew compared to 2019?
Also don’t forget nine and seven’s total people share a well ahead of 10a as they have a huge portion of over 55s who advertisers don’t pay to reach. So largely useless viewers
In the demos that actually make money and all 3 networks chase and program to win, the 3 way race is a lot closer stacked - and again 10 was the only network to grow share in 2020
Would be interested to know if WIN outperforms or under performs the national 10 be benchmark
My guess is WIN underperforms the 10 national benchmark. Which says a lot about WIN
(Prime7 actually outperforms the national 7 benchmark)
You can see below that 10 / WIN is very much in the race that matters. Demos.
Yeah based there, but the ad says they sell in NSW, WA and SA.
The shares is opposite of my viewing, I find I watch 10 the most followed by 7 and rarely watch 9 at all. I probably watch ABC more than I do 9.
In very general terms, the biggest change with shares post the affiliation swap is that WIN rates at or above the level that 10 does in metro areas while SC Nine rates well below Nine’s metro share. Prior to the affiliation swap I believe that WIN was doing just as well as Nine in the 5 cities while SC 10 rated lower than 10’s share.
So WIN can potentially deliver a higher share for Nine in regional areas than SC has been based on historical numbers.
That makes sense. No doubt due to (back then) wins stinger local news.
But unless win comes up to the 50% fee SCA pays Nine, WIN won’t come close in delivering the same revenue to Nine as SCA does.
