Stan is carrying the two world feed broadcasts - one is dedicated to matches played on the main Philippe-Chatrier court (think this is the feed SBS showed over the last few years when they had the rights). On top of that, they also have individual court streams - the main courts have world feed commentary while the outside courts only has natural sound.
Unlike with their rugby coverage, there isn’t a stream of the broadcast coverage on 9Gem (and later Nine)

Correct! Coming from the sports studio in Melbourne.

Who are the commentators for Nine & Stan?
It’s a great versatile set GTV9 have.
It would be good if HSV7 could invest in something similar.

SBS didn’t had a studio when they aired the French Open. Just to the world feed coverage

Good to see channel nine showing the whole days play of the French Open this year rather than cutting it off at 4 am like normal.

Because they have night sessions now?

Isn’t there a rule over there that they have to minimise noise after I think 9 pm? That’s why they never had night matches. Maybe the reason there is no crowds of the nighttime.

There is a curfew in France after 9pm

This is the first year that the French Open has a 9 pm night session but that match is played without a crowd due to the 9 pm curfew.

That’s Wimbledon. They can’t play past 11pm, that was pre-covid

Agreed. SBS used to do that sometimes and Fox constantly would have leave with plenty of matches still on courts and just go to the replays.
The coverage of Nine and Stan has been superb (after the usual 1st day streaming hiccups that seem to happen with any streaming service)

Nine stuck with the Federer match at an empty stadium finishing at 12:45am CET in Paris. I am happy with the FTA coverage with 9 showing the days play from start to finish.

I wonder if it’s just because of Week 2 with less matches? Or because of ratings?
I’m pretty sure the matches are starting later. So yeah less matches. There should be other matches but singles I don’t think will start until at least 8 pm.

Finals matches often start later than from the first to the fourth rounds.
