Sunday 11 April-
First at Five News is back on today.
I mean I didn’t watch it, but I understand it was on yesterday at 4:00pm?
Yes, Nine News: First at Five was on at 4pm yesterday as a special Prince Philip edition from Melbourne.
Correct a special bulletin on the death of Prince Philip aired at 4pm yesterday EPG had it as First at Five News, today it is back in the correct timeslot of 5pm.
We haven’t had a First at Five bulletin since the technical issues started until today.
Yes we have, they’ve just been national. Haven’t they?
The 5pm weekend bulletins are National - always have been.
This looks like an example of one of the Nine News issues revealed above. Inability to source the original news file and relying on YouTube uploads of the bulletins for archive footage. As seen in Brisbane tonight.
I could be wrong, but I think we’re watching Nine News…
The Nine radio stations programs were not affected by the cyber attack, but the system that is used to book advertising on the stations was. The Australian claims:
and it’s likely to
Pocket money compared to what Jones was losing the station after his comments against Jacinda Ardern
Heard a story from a reliable source a few weeks ago that it almost made its way into the radio network when television staff were asked to work offsite in the days after the attack.
Have the issues affected nine’s corporate website(nineforbrands.com.au)? notice there have been no media releases or updates there for a couple of weeks now.
Nine still send out press releases to other media outlets such as TV Blackbox. I am sure TVCynic will have received them too.
It was reported in The Australian that they can’t take any new ad bookings at the moment, I believe across TV, radio and print. The hack has crippled that system as well.
That’s the most important revenue raising part. Do you know what the underlying tech that is used by that system?
Not sure if this is an example of the ongoing issues - showing the news reports filed for the major bulletins have their supers burnt into the footage.
You would have thought they would keep a clean version even if it meant going to Officeworks and buying an external hard drive.
I’m afraid it’s not that simple…
They’re probably ingesting at least 500+ hours of footage a day across the network.
Because it’s an exclusive, I’d say it’s burned in during the edit.
