Yeah revenue has taken a hit. Not sure exactly what the issue is but they just can’t take new bookings. I imagine some nationals will be getting some freebies to fill gaps.
So maybe a couple of hard drives then!
Yeah, I’m surprised they’re having to go through and source these copies but at least they’re being able to do that. Their archives footage would be absolutely massive I’d imagine and trying to keep clean and final copies would be a huge challenge and finding storage, even with it being much cheaper these days in the cloud or physically.
PRGs and Classifications are back as normal.
Things are starting to get back to normal at 9 Adelaide.
Looks like Nine News as a whole will be mostly back to normal on Monday from the viewers perspective.
All metro bulletins had network graphics last night.
Cue the outrage if NNL is still a national special edition!
In addition to control room “coming back home”. It also seems that now other staff are now able to use the network’s computers/servers rather than relying on personal computers or laptops.
I dare say that the afternoon Sydney news broadcasts seen last week were a trial, as they’re probably the most expendable program to come out of TCN. And if things did go wrong, the GTV and QTQ bulletins were both on air at the time as a potential backup.
Good to see that they’ve got the confidence to have Today being controlled out of Sydney once again.
Can’t blame the hackers for that one! In the last week alone I’ve seen:
- “Oxygen Takns” on 7 News
- One from ABC News that I can’t find the photo of now but it was a major one
- Then from Sunrise on the weekend they had a big headline about the “Lord Major” of one of the capitals and in the ticker it was worse, it was the “Lord Mayer”.
Lord Mayor @ando9185?
Don’t forget the single ‘f’ headline 7 News Perth had in a coming up super at some point this week.
Nine’s associated company Domain has had their computer systems hit by a phishing attack.
They really need to be more careful opening emails.

Didn’t Nine Entertainment learn ANYTHING from the last debacle?
Scammers will keep targeting them because they know how vulnerable Nine is to this.
One of their own tried to warn them about this 16 years ago… I guess they weren’t watching the opposition at the time.
From 2005…
Now afflicting some local stations in the US.
Question becomes how do you prevent this kind of nonsense. Do networks need to stop integrating their systems with the internet? Is that the problem?
