The studio is in a great location with a great perspective. So far we are getting stock coverage as opposed to the TAB rights taking over. That will only be integrated into the racing sections it would seem.
Disappointingly the Mic flags are cup carnival branded and not the usual 9 ones.

The presentation so far looks good. Let’s wait and see TAB’s involvement and if sports betting continues its stranglehold on Australia.

Could this be the sign of things to come for sporting telecasts next year, not just for Nine, but also for other networks? For example, you could have a small AFL logo next to the Seven and Fox Footy watermarks.
I would hope not. I don’t like generic coverage. Network branded coverage is better as it adds prestige.

Are the VRC coverage, graphics etc. also shown on Sky Channel? I think Racing dot com does its own presentation.

Ten used to use an AFL mic for quite a few games, not sure if that was because they had to (kind of like what we see with Foxtel now for games that’ll be simulcast on Seven in select markets), back when Fox Sports would replay the FTA games later that day; Ten’s Saturday afternoon game usually soon after it finished including a specially recorded intro and truncated pre game from Ten.

RACING.COM’s free to air channel is showing Flemington.
But their Foxtel channel is showing a gfx explaining that they can’t broadcast the race due to contractual restrictions

The Victoria Racing Club’s own YouTube channel has clips from Nine’s coverage throughout Derby Day today. One example is Eddie McGuire’s chat with American singer Anastacia who was guest performer.

They did at least one year maybe 99 or 00 live from the Champagne Bar in the old members stand. I managed to grab a copy of the running sheet, unfortunately I think it’s disappeared during a move.
