No host for the morning heats. Just straight to the commentary box with Matt Thompson on play by play and Ian Thorpe and Gian Rooney as analysts/special comments.

I like the refreshed graphic package.

Did Nine use these graphics for the annual FINA World Swimming Championships in Doha back in Feb?
They used the ‘World Aquatics’ international feed graphics similar to how they use the respective Grand Slams graphics.

I am not a fan of the fluro green/blue from an aesthetic perspective.

They’ve also recommentated the Tokyo trials too. Don’t like that they are rewriting history…,

Nine have also done this with their tennis coverage since day dot, when showing archive footage (albeit not re-records), they use the world feed, not Seven’s.
It is a shame, but oh well, it is what it is. They’re still using official or following original contract/copyright laws and editing as they feel fit. Maybe they do want zero Seven presence too.

Very good doco last night, great to see the Gaze legacy recognised in such a way. Can’t say I’ve seen similar for the AFL or NRL recently. I assume it was produced by the NBL (since they were promoting it) and given to 9 as a promotion vehicle.
Funnily enough, the Opals were playing an Olympic warm up game in Japan at around the same time which you couldn’t even get a stream for. Boomers playing in Japan on the weekend as well (haven’t heard about that being broadcast or streamed either). This seems like a failure on Basketball Australia’s end.

It wasn’t an official friendly from what I’ve been told, hence the lack of even a betting stream.

I think it was shown in Japan somewhere (in Japanese obviously). The Japan Basketball Association put highlights on YouTube (mostly of their team though).
The violent “TIP OFF” at the start

Maybe I’m confused with tonight’s scratch match? Strange that nothing was done at all here though if it was a broadcast fixture.

It was made by a third party production company (note the K documentary watermark on top left of the trailer) for the NBL. I missed the show last night so I am not sure about the exact name of the production company.

LK Group logo? Which is NBL owner Larry Kestelman’s organisation.
But credits did have an Apatchie Media logo.

Yes that’s the one (LK Group).
According to Apatchie Media’s website, it previously made a 6-part documentary for the NBL called Expect the Unexpected, which chronicled the 2020/21 season.
