The EPL coverage started at 4:59 into game play tonight.
Curiously, did it start at (a tad) before the 5 minute mark in all cities, or just where the NRL aired?
Also, this was the last game of the EPL on Nine for a few weeks. Will be interesting to see if it returns.
Even with a later start (with daylight savings here and abroad). A âpre gameâ show could work for them perhaps too. Remember, the almighty ratings period finish ar midnight. A pre game show at 11pm, witk kick off at 11.30pm would help with ratings shares.
Itâs not returning.
Re: World Athletics Championships 2025
Looks like Nine will show the day sessions as well, based on the advance schedule.
With WNBL and NBL under common ownership, I was hoping for WNBL taking the FTA rights to 10.
10 donât do anything, they just tinker at the edges and cannot be taken seriously. Youâd think if they want a major sport theyâd build a portfolio of niche sports to demonstrate ability and commitment.
Talk to the soccer on Drama on Friday
If 10 had the WNBL, theyâd probably dump it on Gecko or You TV in favour of their 4x4 shows.
âa select marque games on 9GOâ⌠Was hoping that there would be more games on FTA.
That would mean a better production than the livestream?
You would hope so. Fingers crossed.

Interesting that Nine still has not revealed its commentary team for the World Athletics Championships, and how it will commentate the events (from Sydney or from Tokyo). I reckon Nina Kennedy, who withdrew from the Australian team on Friday after straining a muscle in her leg, will be part of Nineâs team.

Hosted by Tony Jones, Kennedy is joined in commentary by four-time Olympian and track expert Genevieve Gregson, Athletics expert David Culbert live from Tokyo and commentary from Matt Hill (track) and Brenton Speed (field).
Gunning for glory in the green and gold in Tokyo will be an exciting crop of Aussie track and field athletes. Australiaâs rising track superstar Gout Gout will take on the worldâs best in the 200m, Matt Denny starts as one of the favorites in the discus, Paris 2024 silver medallist Jess Hull will look to go one better in the 1500m and Olympic silver medallist Nicola Olyslagers has been in hot form this year as she attacks the high jump event.
A galaxy International Athletics stars will shine brightly throughout the event with Olympic champion Noah Lyles lining up to defend his crown in the 100m, Swedish pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis out to break his own world record, and American Sydney McLaughlin-Lavrone will attack the 400m sprint after owning the 400m hurdles event.
Channel 9HD and 9GemHD is the place to be for the action each night, with finals of selected field events will be available to stream in full on 9Now.
Nine Director of Sport, Brent Williams, said: âA golden generation of Australian athletes and global icons take centre stage for what promises to be an unmissable World Athletics Championship.
âNineâs journey to LA and then Brisbane continues as world record holders, Olympic champions and emerging superstars light up the Tokyo stadium, with every magical moment available on the screens of the 9Network and 9Now.â

SEPTEMBER 13-21
Matt Hill will have two busy Saturdays ahead, calling track action in between his horse racing commentary commitments.
Coverage joined in progress on Sep 17 (session starts 8.05pm) and Sep 19/21 (6.33pm).
A case of not wanting to use 9Go for this event?
Matt Hill will no doubt be doing athletics in LA 2028 for Nine. He did rowing last year in Paris
Was Gerard Whateley a 1 off thing by 9 for Paris? I thought they would bring him for LA too
It would be between the two youâd think.
