The EPL coverage started at 4:59 into game play tonight.

Curiously, did it start at (a tad) before the 5 minute mark in all cities, or just where the NRL aired?

Also, this was the last game of the EPL on Nine for a few weeks. Will be interesting to see if it returns.

Even with a later start (with daylight savings here and abroad). A “pre game” show could work for them perhaps too. Remember, the almighty ratings period finish ar midnight. A pre game show at 11pm, witk kick off at 11.30pm would help with ratings shares.

It’s not returning.

Re: World Athletics Championships 2025

Looks like Nine will show the day sessions as well, based on the advance schedule.

With WNBL and NBL under common ownership, I was hoping for WNBL taking the FTA rights to 10.

10 don’t do anything, they just tinker at the edges and cannot be taken seriously. You’d think if they want a major sport they’d build a portfolio of niche sports to demonstrate ability and commitment.

If 10 had the WNBL, they’d probably dump it on Gecko or You TV in favour of their 4x4 shows.

“a select marque games on 9GO”… Was hoping that there would be more games on FTA.

That would mean a better production than the livestream?

You would hope so. Fingers crossed.

Interesting that Nine still has not revealed its commentary team for the World Athletics Championships, and how it will commentate the events (from Sydney or from Tokyo). I reckon Nina Kennedy, who withdrew from the Australian team on Friday after straining a muscle in her leg, will be part of Nine’s team.

Matt Hill will have two busy Saturdays ahead, calling track action in between his horse racing commentary commitments.

Coverage joined in progress on Sep 17 (session starts 8.05pm) and Sep 19/21 (6.33pm).

A case of not wanting to use 9Go for this event?

Matt Hill will no doubt be doing athletics in LA 2028 for Nine. He did rowing last year in Paris

Was Gerard Whateley a 1 off thing by 9 for Paris? I thought they would bring him for LA too

It would be between the two you’d think.
