Nine (Southern Cross)

Yeah, I’m assuming it’ll be the same as last year.

Last year:
At 2am AEST/3am AEDT just as the 3am programme was about to start on the Sydney feed, they dropped the feed and played out something else themselves for QLD. (From memory, PRG and watermark free).

Then at 3am AEST/4am AEDT they re-joined the Sydney feed on a 1-hour delay with the 3am programme.

Looks like SCA switched straight across to the Brisbane feed on 9Life at 2am QLD time.

The audio went all messed up and the video feed froze/pixelated, then the screen went black for a little while before it came back to life.

The EPG is wrong too. The EPG shows “The Real Housewives of Orange County” which is what is airing in on the Sydney feed now… while Dance Moms is actually airing.

Not sure what SC9 switched to as the Brisbane feed is still the same as Sydney. Looks like they are managing the time transition themselves.

Yeah, it seems you’re correct.
The ad break has the hard-cut like it did last year.

The episode of Dance Moms still has all the PRGs and popups as if it was from the dirty feed, so I’m guessing it must be an episode of the show that SCA have recorded from the dirty feed in the past that they are just rebroadcasting?

Yep, this is definitely just an episode that SCA have randomly recorded from the dirty feed.

The PRG just had a “Next: Arranged” on it… and that’s not what’s scheduled to air next.

Looking at the TV Guide, they’ve recorded this at 7:30pm on Thursday and they’re just rebroadcasting it now to fill in the time.

Same thing happened again at the 3am QLD time transition.

Half with through an ad, the audio glitched and screen froze, black screen for a little bit, then it returned and the feed continued from exactly where it stopped one hour ago.

We’re now on a 1-hourly delayed Sydney feed on 9Life QLD.

Weird. Could SC9’s playout centre not have access to the 9Life Brisbane feed?

What was shown on 9Life Brisbane between 02:00 - 03:00 AEST?

9Life Brisbane had “The Real Housewives of Orange County” from 2am-3am AEST.

While SC9Life QLD had “Dance Moms”.

Comparion of SC 9Life in QLD and 9Life Sydney during the start of DST on Sunday morning.

There are a couple of times at the end of the ad break where you can see a frame or two of the last Sydney ad on the SC feed.

Note that during the filler episode of Dance Moms on SCA that there are no Nine promos at all during the ad breaks, and that the PRG says “Next: Arranged”, which was incorrect, as discussed above.

So a very slack effort. They had days to cover-up the “Next” thing, but of course that’s too much effort, especially for a time when almost nobody would’ve been watching.

Just saw a sponsor board air on SC9 Townsville for local radio station 4TO … it was basically SCA sponsoring themselves!

I’ve been surprised they haven’t done more of this.

Just saw a new one of those dodgy SCA-made Nine promos (like we first saw when SCA took over Nine affiliation) for Family Food Fight.

Across today’s cricket coverage, SCA9 (Ballarat) were using just one ‘filler’ (in/out of breaks - to catch-up/work around metro feed).

Promo for “Burnt” (movie premiere) on Monday.

Was so repetitive, aired no kidding about 20 times I think (and that was only during the times I watched).

Seriously!?

Poor SCA don’t know whether they’re coming or going after the cricket this afternoon.

They aired an ad break/sponsor board after the cricket which cut out the start of Hot Seat.
First Hot Seat ad break started fine, but ended way early and we ended up with about 2 minutes of metro ads direct from Brisbane.

Just now when Eddie crossed to the “let’s see what’s coming up on 9 News”, we had the news preview where Sam said “9 News is straight up after the cricket”, and now have gone into a full ad break, rather than returning to Hot Seat

Way better than the network ident.

Woah that’s a great Christmas promo from SCA!

Watched a little bit of SC9 this morning and saw the “Exclusive… it’s a Nine letter word” promo featuring Andrew Lofthouse and Melissa Downes air about 5 times, also an ad with Melissa Downes and the Brisbane Mayor talking about “the Christmas events on in our great city” or something like that.

Aspire TV IDs - these are unchanged since the channel started in 2013. One still says that it is Australia’s Newest Channel.
