On the other hand, why couldnât it change?Currently WIN and TDT rate reasonably similar figures - similar enough that WIN would likely lose very little revenue (if any at all) by changing to TEN for their main channel, which would have the advantage of giving them more consistency across their network (think cheaper branding etc if their main channel was a TEN affiliate everywhere).
Yes, very true. I agree with parts of both sides of the debate. Not sure either way, but the joint venture may even cease to exist. I guess weâll just have to wait and see how it all plays out. Either way, itâs going to be all very messy in these regions. Thanks again, Bruce!

You canât understand why WIN would be doing so poorly in Tassie?
WIN axed their weekend news in one of âBruceâs brainwavesâ a few years ago and despite reinstating it, have paid the price since.
They shafted their weekend viewers, they went to sample SC and have never returned.
Precisely. Who could forget this promo Southern Cross ran with at the time showing WIN up for lack of local News content: https://youtube.com/watch?v=M4rEhLbgKVk

Coupled with a revolving door of presenters, there hasnât been the consistency since Tom Payne left to build a loyal following.
Compare this with SC, how long has Jo been there? The only thing that changes there is her surname.
Yep, recently think Peter Hughes, in which he lasted just 12 months before being shown the door late last year. And all that after a big promotional push before he started in the new role.
Iâll answer your question whether you were legitimately asking or not - Jo has been there around 20 years. First started out on weekends then when Steve Titmus moved on in the early 2000s she took over the weeknight position.

In a more parochial like Tasmania or even Perth - the station with the leading news service often is the leading station overall. Thatâs why 7 has always been so strong in Perth and Adelaide. And SC in Tasmania. All are âheritageâ stations - same with NBN in Newcastle.
Yep, basically. Itâs like the viewers lose their remotes and canât change the channel.
