Olympia is much too valuable to just leave in a traffic reporting role - if Nine can’t use her better someone else will
Matt Granland hosting 3AW’s Wide World of Sports this week, while Jimmy Bartel takes a break ahead of the new AFL season.
I listened to the 6pm news on 3AW on my way home from work today, and yes the bulletin had been reduced by 30 seconds for more ads.
This is false. They’re apologists for Dutton and his extremists views. There’s no push back. The ABC has lurched to the right.
ABC has always leaned to the left, always will. If it could, the Liberal Party would bow to News Corp’s demands and shut the ABC down. Instead it will take a chainsaw to the budget as it did last time it was in office.
They lean to which party is going to gut them the least.
In the commercial sense, they’ll lean to which party will give them more government ads and more profits.
So there’s no time call at the end of bulletins on 3AW now… I remember not that long ago when they did a full 5 minutes of news/sport. Then it was cut to 4:30, and now it’s 4mins. Big shame.
I noticed the news on 2GB at midnight doesn’t have the headlines anymore.
She posted to social media: “Goodbye 2GB Radio – thank you for the memories, laughter, and growth! Excited to start a new chapter … I couldn’t have asked for a better send off!”
They don’t have headlines anymore at all.
3AW never did but I like that it’s been removed as it makes the news sound more tabloid.
Less time for Liberal Party propaganda! Which can only be a good thing.
For a short time 3AW did both headlines and their weather intro. Only lasted a few weeks though.
Much-loved broadcaster Philip Brady has been farewelled by fans and family, including his 3AW colleagues. Friends from their schooldays together, Pete Smith told mourners it was the 85-year-old’s strong faith that helped him through his short cancer battle

Ross and Russ hosted their breakfast show live from Bendigo this morning. They spoke to Premier and local MP Jacinta Allan after the 8am news (only caught the second half though).
Spurway will cover all elements of women’s football, including all state leagues, and her work will feature across Nine Radio’s websites, social media channels, and as part of the network’s news service. She will also work across the station’s AFL coverage.
I’ve caught parts of Phil O’Neil on 2GB overnights since he started Tuesday morning. Pretty impressed i must say. A good balance imho between the excessive whimsy of Mike Jeffreys ( i can take Mike in small doses … good to hear he is still doing Mondays ) and the over-earnest seriousness of Michael McLaren who did this shift for years. Phil sounds a natural for talk radio after his FM years … and no Ugly references !
