John Stanley into 2GB brekkie at last part of summer break. Bill Woods into nights which is a super safe pair of hands

Luke Grant will no doubt cover somewhere on 2GB summer weekdays but i think he’s taking a break atm first.

Please NOOOO … too much for the (Sydney) human units like me to stand (although maybe payback since we have imposed K&JO on Melbourne). If Clinton moves hopefully Mr Jeffreys could resume full time Mon-Fri??

i am surprised to hear than Chris O’Keefe is stepping down from Drive (3-6pm). Especially with no prior hint of him leaving until this afternoon.

Although in the latest ratings, there was a good increase, most of his ratings have been “average”.

A bit hard for anyone at GB to get any attention recently with Ray’s announcement/retirement. But I agree. it’s a shame that Chris didn’t get more of a send-off.

On this though, how’s the reaction to Simon Owens’ Saturday evening show in Sydney?

Simon has been doing that show over summer on 3AW for a number of years. I believe this year is the first time it’s been networked.

Adam Hawse has replaced Mark Levy on WWOS.

Looks like Hadley will be calling footy next year, he spoke about it on the Big Sports Breakfast weekend, will do some stuff on tv, unlikely at 9 but he has been approached by Steve Crawley at Fox.
I wouldn’t be shocked to hear some calling on 2GB either.

This article from Mumbrella includes comments by Hawse himself and 2GB content manager Luke Davis.

“Adam is a popular member of our Wide World of Sports team as a regular fill-in host and the trusted voice of our afternoon sports news on 2GB,” Davis said.

“He boasts an impressive media career spanning more than two decades across radio, podcasting, TV and publishing and will bring all that experience to this new hosting role. ‘Hawsey’ is well-respected and well-connected, and I know our 2GB listeners will love getting their sports fix with him each night!”

Hawse added: “In footy-speak I can’t wait to tackle this new challenge and continue the outstanding work of Mark Levy as host.

“For a guy who’s spent his life either in the grandstand as a fan or holding a microphone at a press conference, I consider it a privilege to be able to share the very latest sports news and opinions with our loyal listeners on this incredible program.

“We won’t be side-stepping any issues and we’ll have plenty of laughs along the way too.”

A great replacement.

I remember Adam Hawse quite well from his Ten days, it was him and Victoria Murphy. Used to regularly fill-in presenting Sports Tonight on weekends at 5:30pm, when Rob Canning would fill-in for Brad McEwan during the Late News, late 2000s / early 2010s. Also on Ten News Sydney. Pretty sure he covered significant NRL stories during this time too. I think he remained there through the notorious early major structural changes and job cuts, until he eventually departed. Him and Rob probably ended up re-uniting via Nine, wasn’t the latter a producer at TCN? Canning went back even further at Ten, when he was very young, like 21 or 22 or something, around 2000, back in the Tim Webster, Bill Woods, Leigh Diffey and Ryan Phelan days.

UPDATE: John Stanley hosting 2GB Summer Breakfast. Good choice.

What did the official Nine Radio schedule say about who’ll be doing the Summer shifts on 2GB? Were these names released pre-Hadley’s retirement announcement? Ie was Mark Levy meant to cover 2GB Breakfast over Summer?

Mind you, it’ll be interesting to hear Mark’s first official day replacing Hadley from 9am tomorrow. I wonder if we’ll hear any programming format changes? Or if Mark will simply be an outright replacement?

And was anything mentioned in Ben’s final breakfast show for 2024 about who’ll be filling-in from Monday?

It’s odd for GB to leave it a little late like this as to who’ll be doing which shifts.

Also - prediction: Neil Breen will be doing some form of permanent shift on 2GB in 2025. The fact he was missed in the recent 4BC reshuffle, and the fact he’s still floating around Nine Radio with CCT - I’m sure he’ll pop up somewhere in the schedule.

Not much rest for Jimmy Bartel as he co-hosts 3AW Summer Breakfast with Mark Allen.

Yep, i did anticipate this here 3 days ago

I doubt it. Hadley departure would have been known well before the summer scheduling and Levy picked as his replacement

Levy mentioned today several times he will put his own stamp on the show. The basic Hadley style will prevail as that is how Mark has been filling in for a few years. One good change noticed today was that Levy actually takes open line calls. Hadley hardly took an open line call for years despite constantly giving out the number. Ray just preferred reading out sms the past few years.

Become problematic?

Alan has always been problematic since before many of us here were born.

Odd and egregious at the very least.

Probably as John’s been mentioning it for weeks at night. No surprise, John’s often filling in on breakfast.

The wider schedule is often sent as a draft to staff 6/8 weeks or so. Remember that cover for production staff and panel ops also need organising.

Who is hosting the 4BC Summer line-up given they don’t have as much talent to choose from?

Are they networking shows from 2GB for the Summer period?

Nine Syndication site says they’re networking Mornings and Afternoons ex-2GB between 23/12/24 – 17/01/25.

Dean Miller was previously announced as covering Breakfast. And Shane Doherty was joining to cover Drive.

Assuming Drive will also start at 2pm due to daylight savings for those few weeks.

Yep Sabina has been talking about how she’s pushing herself outside her comfort zone to host. She spoke about it on afternoons a couple of weeks back.
