What a mess.
Who is presenting on Christmas Day morning on 3AW?
I guess it will most likely be Shane McInnes considering he has done it for a few years now?
Other shifts on Christmas Day are confirmed to be:
12am-6am: Pat Panetta
12pm-6pm: Emily Power
6pm-12am: Phil Brady & Simon Owens
It’s usually Shane McInness.
Actually, Grubby will be hosting Christmas Morning this year.
4BC Christmas Day (likely 2GBs as well):
4.30am - 9am Mark Levy
9am - 1pm Susie Elelman
1pm - 5pm Dale Sinden
5pm - 11pm Phil Brady and Simon Owens
This is always great background listening whilst preparing and driving to/from various Christmas commitments. Even better that Grubby Stubbs is covering breakfast/morns.
The old guard audience of AW will be overjoyed with Simon and Phil doing a couple of night shifts.
It looks like Carols by Candlelight will be hosted by Simon Owens and Andrew McLaren and not Phil Brady this year
Interesting that TJ and Heidi swap over for the final week of the summer shows with TJ flipping to drive and Heidi moving to mornings.
I wonder if it’s to do with both their Nine News TV commitments or is it sharing the experience of both shows around for some potential succession planning.
on 4BC as per @glen2006.
As their show is very Melbourne, with non stop nostalgia about local things, does this program travel well to other cities?
Obviously it will not be their usual nostalgia show on Christmas Night. That format is only on their weekly Sunday programs.
This is a shame. Probably has been mentioned on their program if members are keen to Wade through it.
I didn’t hear all of their show last night, but at the end, Phil said something along the lines of “we’ll see you at the Music Bowl on Christmas Eve”. So possibly it could be a mistake, or all three of them will be involved in some capacity.
I was thinking about their show generally, not Christmas night.
But their show generally is only broadcast in Melbourne, so why does it matter if it goes down well in other cities? I’m confused
Haven’t Phil & Simon hosted 2GB Christmas Night in recent years? I don’t think this is their first time…
A glutton for punishment.
I hope he doesnt work himself like Hadley did. This guy is a heart attack waiting to happen. And I say that as a fat bastard.
Apparently that’s why he is taking Sunday off during the NRL season.
I thought it was networked sometimes. Apologies if I was wrong.
During a chat with tennis journalist Craig Gabriel on last night’s show, Bruce Eva revealed that he would host Wide World of Sports on 3AW from Melbourne Park during week one of Australian Open 2025 (January 13-17), with Matt Granland at the helm during week two (January 20-24).
Bruce also said that WWOS would not be broadcast tonight due to 3AW’s coverage of Carols by Candlelight, and tomorrow (Phil Brady and Simon Owens in the chair, as discussed above). Eddie Summerfield would host WWOS on Thursday and Friday following the Boxing Day test.
