Nine’s live and local talk stations posted a significant double digit increase in streaming nationally in April 2024, galvanising Nine Radio as the destination for live audio listeners.

Nine’s catch up podcasts also reign supreme with on-demand audiences with Ben Fordham Live and the Ray Hadley Morning Show each posting listener growth of 44% YoY, while footy fans are continuing to flock to 3AW for the very best in AFL commentary, with 3AW Football catch up podcasts listeners up 17% YoY.
Nine Radio Head of Content, Greg Byrnes, said “These numbers highlight talk radio’s unequivocal dominance in live streaming and catch up and show our audience is only getting bigger.
“We know Australians turn to talk in times of crisis, and that’s been reinforced with recent breaking news events, but they also rely on us for entertainment, excitement and analysis. And with the footy in full swing and the Paris Olympic Games now just 72 days away, our streaming audience will be unprecedented.”
Nine’s Director of Sales, Total Audio, Ashley Earnshaw, said: “The future is bright for Nine Audio, with even greater audiences seeking out our content through our apps via connected devices and across our podcast content.
“Our dominance in digital audiences continues to create full funnel opportunities for brands to blend the reach of radio with data-led targeting capabilities, creating unparalleled impact and effectiveness for brands.”

No issues for me even though I don’t tend to use the app I use the direct streaming link. You can try and clear the app cache and make sure you have the latest version from the app store or Google Play store.

Some quality reporting on Nine Radio this morning at 10am by Madeleine Burke. “It appears a series of vandalism attacks happened between four and five o’clock here at the US Embassy in St Kilda Road”.
She was probably running to a deadline and meant US Consulate but still, a glaring error.
Today marks one year since Dee Dee presented what would be her final show on 3AW. How time flies. I still can’t believe how Nine Radio mgmt treated her.
Wanting someone to fail is uncharitable, you can always switch off.
For the record, Felgate’s shift is 3-6pm, so the 4-7pm share figure doesn’t really reflect anything important.
Shares are almost redundant today.
What is important?
Cumes, target demo’s, time spent listening, growth in ‘new’ listeners/technology, plus other performance indicators which 9 radio have.
The private survey data available to each subscribing station is vast today giving them the opportunity to analyse much more than the headline published numbers.
Felgate and all of the other presenters will stay their while their audience generates enough revenue and skews younger.
As the current Nine television news discrimination issues highlight, media is a tough business, especially for females.
She’s been given an opportunity, good luck to her.
I don’t want to switch off. I want to listen to drive.
But I can’t. She isn’t suited for what Drive is all about. Anyone can sit in front of microphone, answer calls, end calls, and roll on. She adds no substance to the program.
I’m not sure what being a Female has to do with it. I listen to Heidi. And did D D. They also didn’t lose 90k listeners last time I checked.
I like Jac. She just isn’t suited to the role. I like many of my colleagues. Some of them shouldn’t be in the job however. Management pulls those decision making strings not me.
