Nine Radio (Talk)

No doubt the 3AW breakfast team will be there annoying the masses.

Ross and Russ and Ben Fordham will definitely be there.

Imagine there’ll be live coverage overnight from 6pm til 5:30am.

Which has happened again this week.

I can’t see Nine allowing this situation to carry on for too long. It’s not even as if Mike is using up holiday - he hasn’t been there 5 minutes

A caller asked him how he was, he said he is feeling great, much better. So yeah it doesn’t seem to be health related. He didn’t sign off either and say see you next Monday.

Clinton has just announced on X that he has been appointed weekday overnights host. Says he’ll still do a bit of reporting as well. No mention of Mike.

If Mike is still up for presenting one night a week, might he take Clinton’s spot on Weekends?

I noted that on X some people have asked where Mike will be. Hopefully we can hear soon.

Probably his merry band of loyal cookers who liked his conspiracy theories of the WEF and the like.

2GB web says Clinton on Overnights Tues to Friday with Mike Jeffreys still doing Mondays. Then Pat Panetta on weekends (piped up from Mexico). This seems a weird job share for 7 shifts across 3 presenters. Would be much better for 2GB if Mike took over weekends + Mondays … so we don’t have to suffer yet again 3AW content up here. IMHO

Surely we don’t have to get 3AW overnights again on 2GB, it is just so painful, we deserve an actual show where there is genuine preparation and a selection of stories and topics to be covered, not whatever it is they serve up, I think Pat would do better working on the door of an RSL club.

Clinton mainly works from his home studio including where possible his general reporting work. Certainly agree why do Sydney and Brisbane listeners have to put up with crap that is piped up from Melbourne. Just as long we don’t have to suffer the return of Mike Williams or for that matter Alan Pearsall.

Totally agree.

Felgate is obviously determined to drive her Drive program into the absolute toilet with the way the program is going.

Yesterday, it was state budget day and in her regular segment with Neil Mitchell, she was lucky to spend two minutes on it, but then spent the other 20 arguing with him about a story that was two to three days old.

If anyone from 3AW is reading this, please get her off the radio. She is the worst!

I’ve now started a drinking game.
Every day you hear on her show
ā€œIt’s been a busy showā€
ā€œIt’s quite a heavy topicā€
insert bayside topic here

Today’s topic that is being dragged through is tow trucks towing cars… riveting. Again. This is afternoon show content not drive.

I bet there will be another 2 points drop in the next survey.

Hopefully the next rating result stinks and she is booted.
Perhaps get Steve Price back.

He tanked last time in the slot.

John Stanley finished his show Wednesday night with a recap of having network handyman, Simon Stevenson on and his daughter who apparently left a lucrative office career to work with Simon.

If that was a stir up for Luke Bona after midnight, he would’ve missed it as he’s not on (see MMM thread).

John played out the show to the news with a looping grab of Ray Hadley saying he’s trying to convince management to take John to the Olympics.

Why is this still up in the air and not confirmed? John Stanley is one of the most versatile and competent broadcasters Australia has. Or is it confirmed and another running in joke with Ray?

Tom Elliott just used the statement: ā€œI’m older than youā€ to try and shutdown an argument from a student protester on Melbourne radio’s number one mornings program.

Whilst I imagine most of his loyal listenership would have been on his side, he got totally owned by the well spoken young woman and he was again shown up for the hopeless interviewer he is.

I am bewildered how he still draws such an audience given how bad he is at conducting interviews, covering politics and breaking stories.

He also repeats the same topics with a higher frequency than repeats of MAS*H. I don’t know how many times he’s done ā€˜Aussie slang’ with his linguistic expert, but they are doing it again this morning. It’s a disgrace.

Whatever you say about Neil Mitchell, he was a news breaker, an agenda setter and bloody good interviewer. There is a massive void at 3AW currently.
