Nine Radio (Talk)

She was not drunk if I believe what she was saying which I am inclined to as she to my knowledge doesn’t have a history of such behaviour such as the former leader of the National party.

Personally if I was Albo I would avoid going on Hadley’s show and follow the approach of Daniel Andrews and focus on social media. The vast majority of people who listen to 2GB would not vote for him anyway.

Most other shows have regular guests from both sides and he should not have Dutton on without a weekly discussion with a Labor party member like Bill Shorten

Sam also said he would host WWOS on 3AW live from Sydney on Wednesday, March 6, ahead of the AFL’s 2024 season launch.

No mention of network basket case with Huey, Dewy and Louis divebombing 4BC’s breakfast share and hampering the rest of the day; so no mention of digital performance from Brisbane.

no doubt the ratings due out will reveal what a disaster this has been and 4BC will come to their senses and move them on.

Yes, however; what if they’re contracted on pitiful pay rates as the employer had the bargaining strength, they were desperate for work after KQ was sold?

The sharks should be circling around Jacqui Felgate at 3AW. Drive audience ratings have dropped a full two percentage points since she took over as host. That’s a big margin.

Drive ratings at 3AW are the worst they’ve been in a decade.

Well I haven’t tuned in since Tom departed, Spotify for me now.

I will tune back in when she departs.

The share will slide even further. I mean, we all forecasted this well before she event started.

Not surprising but yes it needs to be improved. The content needs to be more hard hitting and faster paced. You can’t do an afternoons pace show in drive and focus on one topic for the whole show basically.

As I predicted, Triple M and SEN were the beneficiaries as Tom’s Drive audience sought alternatives.

I’m not a fan of Jacqui reading her editorials off a script. That is not how you do radio. Where’s the authenticity? Hopefully that improves over time.

To be honest most read the editorials off script but they just “present” it better so you don’t notice.
Neil and Tom both do it on paper but didn’t need to rely on it.

However majority of on air telent these days have auto cues. I’ve heard people like Chrissie Swan won’t present without one.

Widely tipped, Failgate needs to go and go now.

I just have never understood what 9 saw in her. She was never, ever, Drive material. Just like she should never have been in the studio anchoring anything at 7.

She is a good senior reporter out in the field. Her best work was done for 7 live in the field, not the studio. Terrible anchor.

If it was up to me, I would’ve kept Tom in Drive and given Eddie McGuire the Mornings shift - if he wanted it. No one knows Melbourne like Ed. I also would’ve left Moclair on Overnights, where he worked best, and given Elise Elliott or someone like her the Afternoons show.

Agree with this. Eddie would have been great in mornings.

But I think we should give Jacqui a chance in drive. She’s breaking a lot of news.

I am predicting she will be gone by year’s end and Heidi Murphy will take over Drive.
The segment she does with her husband on a Friday afternoon is just rubbish.
I had a day off last week and got to listen to some of Tony Moclair, I reckon he is better on Overnights. Denis Walter was a much better fit for Afternoons.

DeeDee was better in afternoons

The only issue with Heidi is they do seem pretty firm on keeping her in the 9 News arena. With the loss of key senior talent over the previous few years, did seem like they wanted to offset that with the likes of HM.

I do think the Drive slot is more important vs one senior person hanging around on 9 News.

The Pile-on Felgate here is unfair.
It is ONE, her first survey.
Program changes need a year, at least, to bed in with the audience.
Nine is also trying to skew AW younger as it, like all talk formats, is top heavy on the 55 plus demo.
it’s a summer survey. The averages per shift are quite meaningless.
Cumes, demo’s and TSL for every shift at every network will be drilled down for the real picture.
Tom Molone is a radio person, he knows what’s required across the network.
Survey 2/25 will be a time for the review of all AW changes.
