Greg Cary on 4BC breakfast.
Mark Levy on 2GB Breakfast (which I think Jason Morrison would be a better fit).
James Willis on 2GB Drive.
Bill Woods on 2GB Weekend Mornings.
Who is Ned Green?
ALSO, according to this article it sounds like Hadley is now permanently off 4BC Mornings. BIG news and a BIGGER blow to his ego:
Great move here.
Ray would have been well aware of this during discussions of his contract renewal a few months ago.
More money. Less markets.
I’m sure he was part of it all. 4BC Mornings hasn’t really improved over the past 12mths. Although, he did gain some traction with Neil Breen at breakfast.
I’m guessing this’ll truly allow Brent James to work his magic across the weekdays to lure the ex-4KQ listeners across.
Is something happening with Tony Jones? Heard him being congratulated today on some new role? There was a tabloid story a week back suggesting he’d be landing a “plum” radio gig.
My thought exactly. I caught the last part of 2GB overnight this morning thinking they would be taking 3AW up the pipe this week (given Luke is filling in for Raaaaaay). Ned Green sounded ok but i’ve not heard of him before and can’t recall him on air previously.
Just to clarify, I mean there is no sound on the web cam video, both on the app and website. Hasn’t been working for a few days for me so I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem
Bill McDonald to host 4BC Mornings: exclusively live and local in Brisbane
Award-winning journalist and broadcaster Bill McDonald has been named as the new host of 4BC Mornings, completing the live and local line up across the revamped station.
With more than 35 years’ media experience across news and sport, including coverage of Commonwealth and Olympic Games, and a Clarion Award for his coverage of the 2008 Gap floods, McDonald is the perfect choice to take the mantle from Ray Hadley.
4BC Content Manager, Max Dudley said: “I’m excited to welcome Bill McDonald as our new Mornings host, adding another program to our live and local offering on 4BC. It’s a big year ahead for Brisbane with council and state elections, not to mention the ongoing build towards the 2032 Games, and I have no doubt Bill will champion the issues that matter most to our listeners.”
4BC is now the only Brisbane radio station with live and local programming from 5.30am to 7pm, five days a week.
On his new role, Bill McDonald said: “I’m excited to host 4BC Mornings to connect with our listeners, discussing issues that are impacting our own neighbourhoods every single day. I have lived in Brisbane my whole life and will stand up for where we live as much as possible.”
Dudley also paid tribute to Ray Hadley, saying: “Eight years ago Ray added 4BC to his large list of network stations and has made a huge impact in Brisbane and across Queensland. We’re delighted Ray will still be heard across the Brisbane airwaves during the Continuous Call Team, State of Origin, NRL Finals and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.”
Bill McDonald starts as host of 4BC Mornings today, Monday 18 September.
You heard it here first ![]()
Did anyone catch his show this morning?
-
Any announcement from Bill?
-
Is the format more consistent with other local shows? Eg are there more “classic hits” played more often?
And surely Bill McDonald isn’t also still hosting 4BC Weekend Breakfast?

Seems to be working fine for me?
Also this aside good to hear Tony on afternoons. Much better vibe to the show. Also appears he’s also using some of the old 3aw stings which is nice surprise. Reminds me of the Sigley era
Of course being QLD they watch Sky ![]()
I can hear the sigh of relief eminating from the ministerial suites of the Queensland Parliament Buildinf now that that Sydney based redneck shock jock is now off the local airwaves. ![]()

Did Hadley even get a chance to say farewell to his Brisbane listeners on Friday? It’s interesting that it was never mentioned.
Makes you wonder if it was really in his new contract, or whether they just pulled the pin during survey break to get Bill ready to go?
“4BC is now the only Brisbane radio station with live and local programming from 5.30am to 7pm, five days a week.”
This doesn’t have as much kick to it with only ‘five’ days a week.
“We’re delighted Ray will still be heard across the Brisbane airwaves during the Continuous Call Team, State of Origin, NRL Finals”
They should get rid of him here as well - at least for calls of Broncos/Queensland games. Be a local station and have a local call of them - with all the bias you see on home team broadcasts in the US.
I’ve never listened to the 2GB NRL coverage, but I’m sure it feels out of state to Queensland listeners.
Be the station of Queensland in every way.
Clinton Maynard on 2GB Nights this week. He has definitely earned his annual leave!
I presume Queensland Regional stations that were taking Ray will now take Bill? This will leave John Laws still heard in NSW and Queensland.
Tom Elliott will be on the panel on ABC’s Q+A next Monday night, September 25.
