I believe they did not
Too much Sydney content. They need to replace Haldey and Stanley with Brisbane people.
Particularly now that daylight saving is finished. Three hours of Hadley in Brisbane is far too much to suffer
I’m a little scared to ask this but if any of you are free tomorrow between 9am and 1pm I’d be interested in your feedback as I host 4BC Weekends.
Happy to cop any criticism on the chin and keen to hear what you think of me as a presenter (good or bad).
You can listen at 4bc.com.au
Thanks in advance of you have the time.
Cheers, rob.
Just a friendly reminder if you are around this morning. Show begins in about 20 mins.

This morning’s news featured a headline about ‘leaders give Easter greetings’. When the story came on it was a clip of Peter Dutton saying we should have thanks for chocolate Easter eggs and the Easter Bunny. Then the reader said the PM thanked those who were working but there was no clip. Strange to give more prominence to the opposition leader.
I take your point… not my decision obviously.
Why would this be a surprise for Nine radio? I listen to magic and usually mute the news when it comes on. Ususally has a voice from the Victorian opposition on some inane subject which is not heard anywhere else. I know oppositions need exposure but so to do governments! This bias is even more pronounced in the afternoons when Tony Tardio is the newsreader.
ABC news also covered these Easter messages. How long have these been a thing in a secular country?
My post had nothing to do with Easter messages, just pointing out the bias of these radio stations and their news.
I didn’t hear what they did yesterday, so can’t comment on that specific example, but in previous years the Nine radio stations (and Macquarie and Fairfax before that) would usually run Easter, Christmas etc messages by rotating them each hour, to avoid them being too repetitive and to not take up too much time at the expense of other news.
So for example, the Labor leader this hour, the Liberal leader next hour, maybe replace them with a foreign leader in occasional hours, etc. While it makes sense from a perspective of trying to keep the bulletins fresh and not repetitive on slow news days, it does lend itself to the appearance of bias if a listener only hears one bulletin.
As I said, I can’t be sure about specifics of the day you heard as I didn’t hear it, but this is their historical way of doing it.
Jimmy back presenting 3AW breakfast this week with Jacqueline Felgate.
He was on air last week as well (after the bub was born)

Excellent show Rob. Really enjoying your content and flow.
