I wonder how much Nine paid for those
Godawful design, looks like a bad mock and makes the Southern Cross Broadcasting era logos look fresh by comparison.
The ânewâ logos look atrocious. Michael Powerâs mock designs are 200% better!
So out of the 3AW and 2GB designs they get to choose from, they choose the older, outdated, more hideous and garish 2GB version?
I might be in the minority here in saying I didnât really mind the 2GB design (but for 2GB only) but why go with the blue? Not even the same shade of blue 3AW/4BC/6PR have been using
Wow thatâs disgusting.
I am no designer so I am not going to dare a mock-up but given they use the Nine News theme on their radio bulletins and use Nineâs WWOS branding for the sports program, why not brand the stations with a hint of Nine as well? Put the 9 dots next to the station name, just for instance.
Off to a good start. âSunday Morningâ airing Monday to Thursday. Lol.
Why did they copy the 2GB logo. Thatâs terrible!
I do find it funny they have updated the app logo but not the actual branding within the app though. Even the previous 3aw 1278 logo was more modern than this. What a horrible misstep.
Poor Salty. Thereâs nothing that could improve his head! Short of making his photo less of a focus.
I bet they think these look timeless when in actuality they look dated.
I think we all agree their best choice wouldâve been either of the following:
- Keep all logos as they were previously.
- Or to update ALL logos with a completely modern new look (and not take inspiration from either the ex-Fairfax or ex-Macquarie logos).
Could this be the first time a major metro network has chosen to completely remove their frequencies from their logos? I wouldâve replaced the âCITYâ with the frequency.
Letâs face it, there is so much more you can do with a talk radio network (watch the Random Mocks page go nuts!)
⌠At least for 4BC, their logo now no longer says âNews Talkâ making it much more suited to their talk/classic hits format âŚ
It makes sense to go blue as itâs Nine radio. Nine is blue.
The website looks better on desktop compared to mobile.
I agree that the font in the logo should have been consistent across the cities.
Should bring this back.
Shows the Sydney bias
Who really cares. You listen to a radio station. You donât look at it.
You donât seem to understand speech radio in the current era with apps, videos and social media.
Did a quick mock of what they could have done:
What does make me wonder, why they have dropped the 693 etc and replaced it with the city. I wonder if they will try to transition to this âbrandingâ on air? Referring to it at â3aw Melbourneâ instead of 3aw693⌠Personally I would have kept the signal band.
Love the use of the 9NEWS font. Much better than this logo.
Does anyone know how old that (or previous) 2GB logo is?
It is completely unheard of to keep the same font when doing a logo relaunch.
Pointless. And why be Sydney-biased when top rating 3AW listeners wonât like the change?
It makes the MTR logo look way better than this stuff.
