I really think that overnight radio should be at least entertaining and informative but in Sydney there is a choice of 3 overnight talkback programmes and I guess the same in Melbourne if what 3AW does not suit.
Seb Costello said on 3AW this afternoon that he would go on holidays next week as his wife prepares for the birth of her first child. Elise Elliott will host Afternoons from next Monday (January 9) until Dee Dee Dunleavy returns.
Seb later confirmed he would still be a part of Nineâs coverage of Australian Open tennis which starts on January 16.
Glad to hear Elise will be back. Seb is good. Just not suited to that time slot, heâs too stilted and sports like.
Seb seems to have quite the wide ranging role at Nine lately. Nepo baby saga continues.
Great to hear the dulcet tones of Craig Willis back on 3AW filling in for Darren James this weekend and next.
Time for Darren to call
It a day I reckon both Craig and Tony did a much better job. Iâd give it to Tony full time IMO
Only issue could be Tonyâs commitments with calling the footy, and Craig lives in Mansfield I believe so might not want to commute each week. But I agree, Darrenâs had his day and the slot should be given to someone new. If not Tony or Craig, then someone like Elise Elliott would be good.
Havenât listened to 3AW weekend mornings for years but AW still comfortably win the weekend ratings donât they? Why risk that ?
Agree with finding a spot for Elise, Iâm very impressed with her. She could teach her husband a bit thing or two about actively listening to interview subjects and talk back callers.
I donât have any issues with Darren James. Itâs more about the guests and other co-hosts with all his weekend programs/segments.
Heâs mostly just a moderator/compère type role that he does satisfactorily. Especially during the Sunday Morning program from 10am.
The amount of times they keep advertising for Chrisâs drive show on 2GB starting today they must be desperate for it to rate.
Which it wonât the drive show hasnât been number 1 in itâs timeslot for years and has been 2GBâs poorest performing timeslot for years. People want to relax on the drive home which is why the music stations such as Smooth rate well. I donât see that changing anytime soon.
New logos today (thanks to @EntertainingAus )
ew
wouldve loved them to go for something new instead of doubling down on the 2GB design
dear god thatâs hideous
because nothing says 2023 like a logo that looks like it was written in the 1940s
TBH It looks alright for me. I am glad 2GB doesnât stick out like a sore thumb anymore compared to the rest of Nine Radio.
which probably implies that they should have changed 2GB to match the others, not vice versa
um, Nine Talk, I made something in the same style that looks infinitely better - call me. itâs not too late to change!
So we essentially have 2GB, 3GB, 4GB and 6GB.
I suppose there is not as much heritage in the other logos.
Im pretty sure weâd have a MediaSpy member who did an exact mock of all these logos years ago when Nine took over.
