Nick was absent after he tested positive to COVID-19.
Fiona Patten is ok, Mitchell is not and Finn is an ultra right wing ratbag. And youâre 100% correct, nothing on 3AW is for me.
Maybe 3mp might be for youâŚoh wait you bag the crap out of that.
Funny⌠Yes Iâm an oldie who doesnât like talkback or sleepy music! Prefer a bit of classic rock or even good new rock.
Then why are you posting in this thread? Youâre just shit stirring for the sake of it and not adding any value to the conversation.
Fair enough if you listened, but if not,
itâs hard to constantly stomach your criticism when you donât even listen.
Itâs such a shame we donât have another commercial talk network.
Nobody is challenging your right to an opinion. If you listened for more than five minutes and didnât take the selective views of the âoutrage machineâ as gospel youâd know Neilâs show isnât in the same category as Sky News After Dark. I wouldnât categorise him as a shock jock in the mold of Hadley or Jones, either.
Heâs an old school journo who does allow debate, hence the inclusion of politicians from both sides of the political spectrum on his show. His views no doubt reflect somebody of his age but he does invite discussion from opposing sides on issues and makes a contribution to the community by highlighting social problems and exploring solutions. The show is regularly involved in charitable causes and does seek to help those who are ignored by the system. Iâd hardly class the man as a âratbagâ.
100% agree. Neil actually canât stand Sky⌠ha
Also, this segment with Fiona and Bernie is a shit show. They keep talking over each other. They need to have a bit of order, but the issue is that Bernie loves to waffle and shout, so I canât see how it will happen.
Also the intro to the segment I believe used to be used on another show on 3AW back in the day⌠Iâm trying to find it.
Have to agree. As much as I think Neilâs annoying at times with his old folk grump over some issues Iâd say heâs pretty moderate with his views. Not to mention advocating for big issues and important causes.
I remember when he was up against Pauline Hanson on Today years ago over Uluru and Neil kept pushing back at her which I thought was admirable as many would just let someone like Pauline walk over them.
Itâs been tried in Melbourne, e.g. Talk 1116 3AK and then MTR, but the audience has generally been disinterested.
I respect all your views but I still hold mine. Neil will always put his Liberal slant on his views! If I wanted to listen to talkback and informed information Iâd listen to Virginia Trioli. I prefer my music (Tidal) or Magic 1278, so Iâll go and leave you AW listeners in peace and enjoy your day.
Was it explained why TJ was filling in for Neil this morning? Only reason is Neil was emailing in on topic and I missed the start of the show.
Donât think so, all Neil said at the end of yesterdayâs show was âtalk to you Thursdayâ.
Will be interesting to see who hosts Mornings when Neil takes his two week survey break because TJ will be in London covering Wimbledon.
Maybe Eddie Mcguire might fill in
This is a very big chance I reckon.
Might be Seb Costello. They will do someone on the Nine payroll which I donât believe Eddie is.
Neil in the studio for the first time in months this morning!
Maybe yesterday he was getting counselling to prepare him for returning to the studio!
3AW supports Ovarian Cancer Australia
Ovarian Cancer Australia has been named the partner of choice in the 3AW Supports initiative for the month of June.
Launched last month, the program is designed to help drive awareness and raise funds for vital local and charitable organisations in Melbourne.
Each month, 3AW will champion a different Melbourne-based charity, spreading the word of critical community groups while helping to raise much needed funds to support their endeavours.
The program is part of a broader initiative from all of Nineâs talk radio stations and is underwritten by $1.6 million in airtime and production each year.
Ovarian cancer is Australiaâs deadliest womenâs cancer. Each day in Australia, five women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer and three will die from the disease. Ovarian Cancer Australiaâs vision is to save lives and ensure no woman with ovarian cancer walks alone. By making a donation, you can help Ovarian Cancer Australia support women diagnosed with ovarian cancer through awareness, advocacy, specialist nurses and practical support. To donate visit 3aw.com.au/supports.
Stephen Beers, 3AW Station Manager, said: âWe are excited to launch 3AW Supports with such an amazing charity as Ovarian Cancer Australia. The support offered by the team at Ovarian Cancer Australia makes sure no one goes through their treatment and recovery alone.â
2GB supports Macquarie University Centre for MND Research
The Macquarie University Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research has been named the partner of choice in the 2GB Supports initiative for the month of June.
Launched last month, the program is designed to help drive awareness and raise funds for vital local and charitable organisations in Sydney.
Each month, 2GB will champion a different Sydney charity, spreading the word of critical community groups while helping to raise much needed funds to support their endeavours.
The program is part of a broader initiative from all of Nineâs talk radio stations and is underwritten by $1.6 million in airtime and production each year.
As the largest centre of its type in Australia, it has a single focus: to find the causes of this cruel disease and develop therapies to cure it. MND is a terminal, rapidly progressing neurological disease. Every year in Australia around 800 people are diagnosed. Each day, two people lose their lives â as their families stand by, powerless to help. Motor Neuron Disease is underfunded for the impact it causes, and every dollar counts in this fight. You can help support the vital work of the research centre by making a donation today at 2gb.com/supports.
Luke Davis, Content Manager for 2GB, said: âFor many years, our 2GB broadcasters and listeners have raised funds and championed the case for further research into MND â an insidious disease that affects the lives of many Australians. Weâre delighted to be able to support the incredible efforts of the team at the Macquarie University Centre for Motor Neurone Disease Research as they work towards their vision of a world with no MND.â
4BC began early with their chosen charity Small Steps for Hannah (domestic violence).
