Apologies, I didn’t realise.
I thought P+ had taken over as naming rights, which they have, but didn’t realise the history of why it’s called the Mackinnon Stakes Day until reading up about it.

That is a big loss for Neil’s show. Alyssa should have the know how, however losing Heidi from EP’ing Neil’s show is a loss of years of knowledge.
Exactly.
Begs the question, do you remember who was the EP of Ross & John prior to Mikkayla?
I’m not sure if it is just me but I can’t get any of the audio you have posted to play
When going direct to the source it gives a forbidden error. The links have an expiry variable in them so maybe they were only temporary and I’m too late.
I shall reupload
Brian Surtees, who was a chief rugby league caller for the Macquarie Radio Network in the 1970s, and later around-the-ground reporter for Ray Hadley’s Continuous Call Team, has died.
Beeps in leadup to news have been removed off digital now.
Wonder why
aren’t they a bit useless on DAB given there is a few seconds lag from real time?
Oh of course. The whole delay, but I thought it was more an indicator to the hour (even delayed) not a bad thing on digital
I also heard them on the online stream. It might have been a brief change to where the beeps get added in the signal chain .
I believe normally they might even get added on site at the 693 AM transmitter site. Maybe maintenance at the transmitter site lead them to add them earlier in the chain.
Possibly they only came to the digital signal was due to the News issues last week. Literally that same day afternoon they were added
Were they the standard toth pips at heard on AM or some other beep? Listened to fair bit of AW over the weekend on digital and didn’t notice them.
The same as on analogue from what I believe,
It’s heard most of the time on 2GB however sometimes if they are playing a personalised ad then it won’t be. The ads played on the online stream vs what is broadcast over the air can be completely different. Sometimes the timings are out and you can hear the end of the over the air ad which sounds really bad. Not to mention the repetition of the ads.
I believe that’s related to laws surrounding online betting advertising.
Correct. Usually they are CSA’s
Ross and Russel broadcast their 3AW breakfast show live from Milawa Cheese Company in the King Valley in north east Victoria this morning and yesterday.
That’s fantastic, a great initiative/sales tactic.
Regional tourism needs a boost and especially so in NE Victoria which has suffered floods, fires, pandemic where the region has been isolated from its main drive market of Melb and severed by border closures across the Murray.
David Armstrong hasn’t been reading the morning news for a couple weeks now and there has been no mention of him.
Seems a little odd… as it seems to have happened in line with mandatory vaccination in the workplace.
Maybe he’s just taking his annual leave now and will work through December/January instead?
