And for what itâs worth, the Nine streams arenât geoblocked either. The logins are, but not the actual streams.
Nine are using StreamTheWorld as their streaming host. I wonât provide a direct link as posts with unadvertised links to streams have previously been removed from this forumâŚbut suffice to say all StreamTheWorld streams have a standardised URL structure which can be used to download the playlist to connect to the stream (which is better than going direct to the streaming server as StreamTheWorld load balance streams across multiple servers and regularly move streams around the servers. The playlist is always an up-to-date listing) Google it if youâre interested.
I find most stations in the US have the same approach of geoblocking access from their website and app, but not geoblocking the actual stream. A handful geoblock the actual stream but they are few and far between.
Thinking about their structure itâll have to be traffic on the 5s wonât it? Or they shorten their news bulletins to 4 minutes and make it traffic on the 4s.
Neil working from home still and without power due to the storm. Broadcasting via a generator at home hoping he has enough petrol till midday!

Yes, the Global, BBC and Virgin stations can be listened to online or via a mobile app - worldwide, and the Bauer stations you can listen on radio.net
11am news on 3AW appears to be having issues. Intro was played and itâs just silence at the moment.
11:05 feed came back with Neil saying News studio having tech issues.
Clip below:
Seems the beeps have been added on Digital! First time I have heard them at 2pm.
Prior to Beeps (12pm News)
4pm News (Beeps added)
Shane McInnes and Jimmy Bartel will co-host Sportsday on 3AW next week (Melbourne Cup week) as Sam McClure takes a week off. Gerard Healy is still on leave.
Jimmy Bartel
Is he related to that Bartel woman with the infamous lockdown Instagram video?
They used to be together but split up a while ago (canât remember when)
They were married yes. Split when Jimmy was revealed to have had an affair
According to Sunday Herald Sunâs Jon Anderson, Sportsday (produced by Crocmedia) will come back to the management of 3AW in 2022, with a name change to Wide World of Sports likely, like the show currently on 2GB and 4BC. And long-time host Gerard Healy is expected to be given first right of refusal to continue in that role.

Interesting. I wonder if this will allow for the show to be extended to 8pm, which would allow Money News to focus on content for the other states.
Should Gerard and/or Sam decide to not continue in the role, Ox and Marko (hosts of The Twilight Zone) would be good replacements for them.
Iâm surprised nobody picked that up yet (the fact 3AW and 6PR donât have the WWOS branding).
The Australianâs Media Diary reports that Heidi Murphy is leaving her post as Neil Mitchellâs executive producer.
She told management she wanted a new challenge, and will now split her time reporting for Nine News and on-air roles at 3AW. At Nine, Heidi will report for the 6pm news, and at 3AW, will continue to fill-in for Drive host Tom Elliott, and co-host the Sunday Morning program.
Replacing Heidi is Alyssa Allen, Seven News Melbourne chief of staff.
Good on her. I was only thinking the other day she has been doing Neilâs program for a while now and hopefully she wonât leave the network. Good for her wanting more challenges!
Look forward to seeing and heaving her more
Heidi was the Victorian political reporter for 3AW before she became EP of Neil Mitchell program. Has she done any reports in front of a camera?
Has she done any reports in front of a camera?
Yes she has been a reporter on Weekend Today.
Iâm very happy for Heidi that she gets to report on the nightly news and continue her on air roles at 3AW, but sheâs essentially the driving force behind Neil Mitchellâs program so will be a big loss behind the scenes.
Kate Stevenson, Mikkayla Mossop now Heidi Murphy (sort of), whoâs next?
Itâs like any job though. People donât stay in the same role forever and people move on. Itâs just life.
