Is it possible live cricket will move to 2GB as well?
Would make sense, but I can’t see it happening.
I’d like to see them be more flexible. On weekends they could have cricket on GB. During the week they could have it on UE. As the lifestyle format works better on weekend.
Similar with AFL and league. They could put AFL on 2dayfm.
The station feels like Smooth minus the music.
The updated Talking Lifestyle app has the full lineup.
No sign of Mike Jeffries. Clinton Maynard doing weekend afternoons only and Tim Webster till midday, followed by Ed Phillips and others, then Luke
Bona later in arvos/drive/early evening.
Lifestyle highlights at night and David Prior is also part of the lineup.

As far as I could tell while waiting for the branding switch to happen, it sounded like Mike Jeffries presented his last show for 2UE last night.
One of the worst things about the “Talking Lifestyle” relaunch: The remix of the iconic “Radio Active” news theme has been dumped in favour of a new one which (like most of the branding I guess) sounds very FM-lite to my ears! 
Sport would never work on 2Day FM or any of the Hit Network stations.

I wonder if there’s any plans to re-brand and change the format of any of the other News Talk stations like 3AW, 4BC and 6PR (as they are the other stations who share similar branding to what 2UE previously had)?
Personally I think that the other ex-Fairfax News Talk stations will eventually have a rebrand at some point. 2GB’s current branding hasn’t really changed in a while either, so one would imagine that they’re also due for a change before too long.
I wouldn’t be too surprised to see Magic Melbourne/Brisbane eventually adopt the “Talking Lifestyle” format with 2GB/3AW/4BC/6PR adopt a common logo and branding strategy…

It would be good if MRN would install web cams in the 2gb studios just they have done with 3aw/2ue so you can watch live
Yes I think Mike Jeffries has left. Shame really but I guess he was never going to be totally comfortable in a lifestyle format.
Not sure I would necessarily have chosen to change the phone number at this time. The format change itself is big enough without introducing further changes. I understand that it might well be part of making a break with the past. However, the number for Australia Overnight remains 131332 so that just complicates things!
Why would you want to see Alan Jones etc on webcam???

2GB already has a webcam in it’s studios which can be seen at the Listen Live section of their website, but it’s only static images rather than actual streaming video like what the ex-Fairfax talk stations have.
The phone number is the same because its coming out of 3AW.
Reason for the new number is so they could broadcast on DAB+ nationally without clashing with 4BC/3AW numbers.

If there was a webcam in the 2GB studios would we get to see Alan Jones andRay Hadley abusing staff during the ad breaks? I would certainly watch!

The camera was working during George & Paul yesterday morning, but during the afternoon session someone threw a rag over it. Either have a camera or not, but don’t let announcers just cover it up when they feel like it. Very amateurish.

That was Abe that did that, I think it was because the 2 hours of David Koch was recorded at some other time and Clinton Maynard was playing it back part by part in between ads. At 2 pm it was removed and you could see Catriona Rowntree in the studio broadcasting live.
I just listened to a few painful minutes on 2UE with Clinton Maynard talking with some “travel expert” about Floriade in Canberra. Terrible presentation…uncomfortable banter…is this really the future of 2UE?
