Elise Elliott hosting 3AW Afternoons today as usual. It must have been hard for her after the death of her father-in-law yesterday.
Elise played some on-aired quotes from John Elliott before speaking to her husband Tom (over Zoom) about the life of the businessman.
A few shuffles of the presenter chairs at 4BC this week:
*Peter Psaltis filled in for Neil Breen on Breakfast on Friday. Neil back on Monday.
*Peter also took over mid-show for Scott Emerson on Drive on Thursday after he started to lose his voice. Dan Nolan, the Brisbane based A Current Affair reporter, filled in on Friday.
*Luke Bradnam filled in for Spencer Howson on Saturday, with Nine News reporter Peter Fegan covering Sunday.
Neil Breen appeared at the end of Riverfire tonight to talk about the swap with 4BH. Not sure if the audience would have really understood what he was talking about. But saying that 4BC will then be heard from Gold Coast to Sunshine Coast to Toowoomba.
Iâm not sure Triple M, one of the Riverfire sponsors wouldâve been too happy with the 4BC promotion either.
Are they doing a power increase as well? Because 882 4BH is certainly not listenable on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba now.
Triple M were airing their own broadcast, so wouldnât have heard this. Ironically, their broadcast even featured a phone chat with Luke Bradnam who was presenting on 4BC earlier today.
Yeh. they would have to swap with 4TAb to achieve that
It would need a variation of the Brisbane RA1 LAP to increase power.
Well then I think theyâre dreaming ![]()
882 starts to get scratchy at Ipswich, let alone Toowoomba. And itâs terrible towards the Sunshine Coast too.
So two non-radio types foisting there TV wisdom on radio. Yeah like itâs just the same right.
Anyone wonder why 4BC and 97.3fm have never before now given Sophie a gig after several trials?
If they knew or cared how to get the BH product right, then youâd market it.
I have been open about the fact I have a LOT to learn about radio. Luckily I have been filling in on air over the past few months and have picked up a lot already.
Many people have made the transition to radio with success â Ben Fordham being one example.
have a listen on October 4 - happy to accept your criticism once youâve heard the show. Having said that I expect episode 100 will sound very different to episode 1 - we will learn and adapt.
As long as youâve thought long and hard why Nine has given you the gig when plenty of experienced radio producers are available in BrisbaneâŚparticularly bearing in mind the questionable radio trials Sophie has behind her.
Simple question.
What is the criteria that Nine Radio has in place to measure the success of this upheaval in frequency swapping for two heritage (if somewhat mistreated in last 8 years) heritage brands?
Maybe they feel I have something to offer and maybe they donât share your views re Sophie.
how were they questionable?
Looks like Stevie Jacobs has left his role on Saturday Night Live on 2GB. The website now says that Bill Woods is taking over the timeslot.
Correct. Billâs first show was last night.
This is a little rude, no? Itâs not Robâs fault that they chose him over all the other apparent available producers in Brisbane.
Rob was offered a job and accepted it.
Congrats on the new challenge Rob!
Now that 4BC will have local breakfast, afternoons and drive, does anyone think 4BC will add in a local morning show sometime in the future? Or will they stick with Ray Hadley?
Iâve spoken to Max Dudley about this and he says while Ray (and John) is rating well they wonât be changing it but he did mention that there are plans and wants for more local shows.
