Neil Mitchell and Dennis O’Kane are on the air with Darren James at the moment providing analysis on the covid situation .
Well now we’ll all be fine with such a fine bunch of health experts.
2GB it seems the final 30s ad after the news has been moved back to its old position before the weather. Weather now at xx:06:30 straight into programme.
Same at 3AW.
Understandable why they did it, however it’s disappointing as those single spots can be highly loaded and therefore reducing numbers of commercials in program breaks.
Nine had it as low as five 30 second commercials per ad breaks, topped up with traffic and promos to give orogram teams enough space.
Likely has been done so they can charge more of a premium with it being bookended by news on either side (with weather being the latter side) Post news can’t have as much of a premium attached.
and that would have been why it was like that in the first place.
On 2GB they have a habit of stacking the ad breaks together. There should be at least 10 minutes between them.
There seems to be a big issue with timing on 3AW today. That’s the 5th time going to the news after the jingle there is about 10 secs of dead air before the ad plays.
Must be a remote broadcasting issue.
Jimmy Bartel co-hosting Sportsday Victoria this week with Gerard Healy, with Sam McClure on holidays (although he did call in this evening to discuss the future of Carlton AFL coach David Teague).
as all radio station apps should be. having car play compatablity is a no brainer for radio and music streaming apps (along with audio books & traffic)
Deborah Knight broadcasting from home currently due to one of her children being classed as a close contact of a COVID-19 case, and also having previously felt unwell (not COVID).
Melbourne Deputy Mayor Nicholas Reece joins Darren James and Nick McCallum on the ‘Sunday Morning’ program on 3AW today as Heidi Murphy is on leave.
After an ok start to the year the 6PR ratings have tanked.
Gareth is a good host but he was much better where he was before. They tried to make Breakfast serious and no one wants that.
They should have kept Millsy on Breakfast after Basil left. He could have easily held that show on his own. Now he’s suffering on Afternoons because the lead-ins are dragging him down.
This is exactly what I expected when 6PR announced these changes last year. It was never going to work.
6PR should know Perth people hate change. But it’s not too late to admit they screwed up and revert the changes. They had a winning format last year. Go back to that. Even without Basil they would have been fine with things how they were.
Thanks @JohnsonTV, curious about the claim in the linked Mumbrella article:
The overall story is “a really good story for us”, according to Byrnes, as he says that being the number one network for above 35s is something that “I think probably surprised some of our commentators”
So Byrnes is saying on a market for market basis (four metros excl Adel), when you sort by demos in the survey software; Nine Radio is #1 for audiences 35+ ?
Really?
I am surprised of this as their 40 - 54 share is dismal, save for Melb. So how can they be #1 over 35?
