Nine Radio (Talk)

Oh I don’t doubt his sports credentials although not a fan of the Sunday Footy Show for a long time now. His sports reports can be top notch, it’s the shoe horning into general news and current affairs I find odd.

I think he also did the 90s iteration of Sports Sunday or at least long form reports for it and recall they were decent. Just doesn’t come across well in radio (or as 6pm fill in) for me.

Note to self - do not listen to 2GB during summer.

Anyone complaining about Tony Jones, be grateful you do not have those three anywhere near you.

I actually really like Emily Power, she’s great.

Below was the summer schedule that was posted a few weeks back

3AW is taking national news from Sydney between midnight and 5.30am, according to Pat Mitchell (3AW crime reporter).

So NO George Moore this summer

Why give her a platform?

Because it matches 2GB’s listenership.

That would also mean 6PR is taking Sydney’s news again for overnight. On Saturdays and Sundays, the news was read from 3AW from 1pm Perth time until 5 or 6am the next morning.

Because she is bloody good.

There’s always the tax payer funded ABC for the likes of you.

What a waste if George Moore doesn’t get a gig anywhere.

The George and Paul show was great and should still be in on the air. Offering Mr Moore such an unreasonable contract was criminal.

2GB was once good - now full of bland types with no genuine opinions on anything.

Fish and chip radio with the Two Murrays (gag city), Jim Wilson and Deb “ring in and tell us about your favourite toys as a child” Knight.

Indeed, Peta Credlin is a good broadcaster on both TV and radio.

You might not like her content, but her skill is good and don’t we all want to see successful stations with skilled broadcasters?

Last week for 2020 for Neil Breen’s show.

Scott Emerson of Drive will fill in at least next week.

Since beginning on 1 June, Breen has not seen his wife and children besides some weekend reunions as they’re based in Sydney where he was employed and his wife continues owning her business there.

Hopefully an early start to holidays will see their breakfast show resume sooner in the new year. The best way to build audience is to be there for those beginning their commute as they return from Christmas break.

Not if they are right wing ratbags such as Credlin who only push their own opinions or the Murdoch view of the world. Leave her on the awful Sky News.

The ABC gives all sides a say.

I’ve never listened to her on radio as a presenter so can’t judge but on TV she’s a woeful host. Can’t string her sentences together and isn’t coherent at all.

She is not a “broadcaster”, unlike some broadcasters she’s not even a journalist. She has law degrees. Her strong ties to the Liberal Party has earned her the jobs she’s got in conservative media. Just another conservative hack!

That doesn’t immediately disqualify someone from making great radio or TV. Exhibit A: Stuart Littlemore during his time on Media Watch.

But of course, I don’t have time for Peta Credlin on any medium for the reasons already pointed out.

Not a good example. Littlemore was a successful current affairs reporter on This Day Tonight and Four Corners before he started practicing law.

I take your point, though. Not sure many here would classify Alan Jones as a “good broadcaster” but the former teacher, rugby coach and speech writer for Malcolm Fraser certainly became a successful and influential broadcaster. Perhaps, given time and continued mentoring from Jones, she’ll continue to improve and become as successful and influential.

The ABC is socialist left with not one conservative host of any show.

The sad thing is this stuff is tax payer funded. So no matter what side of the fence you’re on, you’ve got to pay for the ABC’s far left view of the world.

Oh but we can’t have a conservative presenter on another network.

Credlin will go well at 2GB during her summer spot. Much better than the fluff she will be filling in for.

Good luck to her and you. We’re all entitled to our views. I don’t get your views on the ABC but that’s ok.

Peta Credlin reminds me of AI - but with the emphasis on artificial rather than intelligence. I can’t see her working well on radio. Why would anyone listen to her when she’s the person you would avoid sitting next to at the family Christmas dinner?

She’s not a fembot - Peta’s a Libbot. It’s only if more Libbots start appearing that I will get worried.
