I love an expert. Good on Seven.
Paul Higgins (Victoria) isnât, but heâs quite the weather nerd.
I donât think you need to be, you just need to be knowledgeable and study the info and be inquisitive. Mike Larkam used to call BOM everyday and get into the info, and he wasnât a meteorologist but itâs basic journalism.
Oh yeah, fully agree. Wasnât criticising anyone.
Off topic, but they have 3. Tony Auden in Brisbane along with Jane and David.
Do you reckon Tim Bailey, Stevie Jacobs & Lavinia Nixon compare notes in the corridors of 9Radio?
⌠I hope itâs more than just chatting about the weather âŚ
*Livinia Nixon
She lives in Melbourne, the others in Sydney.
Wow, some nutty people around to celebrate the death of red, green and blue.
This has been a mad year for wanting to rewrite history, but now they want to rewrite anatomical compositions?
(Yes, I know you meant the US judge, too funny to be left âun-punnedâ. Plus, her initials are RBG, not RGB)
I know all TV Weather presenter has a line to BOM state forcasting centre. I have spoken to them when on Work Experience with BOM at the State Forcasting Centre(great experience)
I know the BOM used to have a staff briefing of weather outlook at state forecasting centre about 9:30am every morning and not too sure that the TV guys are patched in.
Note the error in the article:

Radio Today strikes again!
How formal is the ânetworkâ between Nine Radio and 5AA now? Are they now doing national ad sales for them in addition to that Nine News hour?
Or had that been going on for ages anyway?
Exactly the reason why I watch 7 and not 9
RE: [quote=âTV-Expert, post:4002, topic:108â]
Nine Radio predicts a ânew generationâ of listeners will turn to talkback,âŚ
âTurn down the Musicâ sigh, I feel that 2UE is still a poor cousin. Why not turn up the music and listen to 2UE/4BH etc? Hope the 9 Music stations can have a revenge promotion turn down the talk and turn up the music.
My view I donât think it is so black and white, that you can just switch a talk station to a younger generation. As a younger lad I did listen to John Pearce and at times John Laws. I know Stan Zemanek also had a lot of young listeners. I may of been the strange young one.
Anyway my view there appears to be a history of people in radio entertaining people much younger than themselves especially in talk radio. You want to look after your current audience. I believe 2GB has become too much Talking lifestyle. I miss the old fashion talkback and getting those crazy people on air and some fun banter. Whats wrong with older people entertaining the young folk? Limit the shows with people talking about retirement plans etc with some finance advisor. Sigh , I guess it makes money.
I have never seen Fiveaa included in this kind of setting unless it is Sport related.
Iâm pretty sure for years there has been some form of agreement/alliance between FiveAA and the remaining Fairfax/9Radio stations.
I think it was just sharing agency sales resources.
Will Nine Radio buy 5AA from Nova Entertaiment?
No, but when MMM did it with SpoonMan it worked. it was because Brian connected with the audience and spoke to them - NOT at them, which is how i feel when i have listened to 4BC. Even Luke Bona somewhat works. sure talkback on Triple M doesn;t fit the format but they do a decent job of it
Sorry to change the conversation, question for all the regular 2GB listeners on here - how is Jim Wilson going in his drive slot?
Sounding like a natural yet, or still a bit hard around the edges and getting settled in?
True! It is often not about the age of the person its the program itself. I would argue that this is more about the content of the show itself.
Spoonman & Luke had a similar structure to the late John Pearce who use to pick some topics to stimulate discussion and debate.
2GB leans on âregular expertsâ at nights and during the day to give advice on Superannuation for example. Not to say Spoonman/Luke would never speak on this topic. There are pockets of talkback on GB at night and during the day, but it seems to be cut short by experts talking about food and wine. Where Luke/Spoonman would get a variety of callers on debating topics. Iâd listen to Luke more but I need to sleep
. This format works for all generations in my view.
I had brothers in there late 20âs and early 30âs who would not listen to 4BC but spoonman became a must listen for them
